If some of the nugs I want to put into cannabutter are moldy are they safe to use? and will they modify taste or yield etc? Thank you in advance for any help greatly appreciated!

mold = bad...do not make cannabutter out of moldy bud...bad bad bad...you wanna get sick?

Thanks for the quick reply, I just had no idea if Mold was okay or not since I've never seen anything on it anywhere. I obviously know not to smoke it but I was wondering if extracts weren't affected by it. Does there happen to be anything I can do with the Moldy ones or am I stuck throwing them out?

Just my 2c, but I would see about stopping the mold growth asap. See Cervantes on youtube on stopping mold growth. Smoking moldy bud often causes respiratory issues. I would then try making an extract like hash/hash oil. I dont know because I have never tried making hash from moldy bud, but to me its worth a shot, I guess it depends on your financial situation and how easy for you it is to re-up.

yah, my friend just ran into some moldy bud and made qwiso, and it turned out fine... i'd think that's about the only safe route for you to take really as i believe like someone else has mentioned, the alcohol will kill any mold spores..
