I have a cactus and a bamboo plant that live on my windowsill in the kitchen. These are my only normal plants. The bamboo is roughly 3 yeas old, the cactus is 2. So when my sister compliments at Christmas that my windowsill multi-bamboo plant was absolutely amazing compared to her dinky one (she gardens alot), I decided since I had only ever given it plain water that it would just explode If I gave it some nutrients!

If memory serves.. (i was stoned..) i gave her a 1/4th dose of fox farm grow big, big bloom, AN piranha/tarantula and voodoo, and some cal-mag. I was expecting it to hit the top of the window frame within weeks..

Well that was december, here we are in march and the sad state of my poor bamboo plant leaves me to believe that was a poor choice. Lost more than half of her leaves :?

Bamboo != cannabis?

Any ideas?.. back to plain water.. :(

Cactus got the same.. looks fine to me. Was supposed to bloom.. never bloomed.

All plants are different I couldn't tell you how to grow any other plant other than bud or maybe a tree lol. Anyways do a little research on bamboo growing and I'm sure you will find information you need within an hour, it's the prior knowledge that will help you learn new stuff fast.

Cactus need certian temperatures and photoperiods to bloom. Just sitting in a window sill probably wont do it. Cactus also dont like nutes. They live in arid, not very fertile ground.

Bamboo is a whole different monster.

Well for one thing, bamboo is a perennial and MJ is an annual plant...

The food you gave that plant was food which was mainly tested and
prepared for annual fruiting plants and the ratios of nutrients in said mixes
are definitely way off when dealing with a plant which is in the grass
family.

The chrstmas cactus needs a 12 hour photoperiod to flower. I keep mine outside and bring it in around december and it always flowers. Bamboo does not like nutrients at all.

The lucky bamboo does not like direct light It grows in shade best. It also does not like tap water the floride and chlorine will kill it.
You totally over fed it. Flush the water and dont feed it for at least 6 months....

The best time to feed your Lucky Bamboo is when you change the water. Just add a couple of drops of aquarium plant food to the water you use to refill the container. You can also use a very dilute solution of a standard plant food like Miracle Gro. For water-grown plants, that means using 1/10th the recommended strength (i.e., if it says 10 drops per gallon, use only 1 drop per gallon for your Lucky Bamboo). If your Lucky Bamboo is growing in soil, you can use a stronger solution.

bamboo, gets root rot like weed,But i think that's it,i have some bamboo and i know it doesn't like direct sunlight.only got root rot once over 6 years even when roots soaked it water so it's less likely to get root rot.give it water that's it and it's fine ,CO2,h2O,O and light it's good pretty easy plant to grow to one of the easiest. compared to bud . Bud more difficult it for smoke if want one as a house plant it is a bit harder to grow.Also your bamboo looks like it burn at the tips and th leaves you showed on the side,bamboo doesn't like direct sunlight it wants shade of to the side of the window,no direct sun light
