Is it underwatering or overwatering ?

Hello dear friends,


Could you help me please to identify my problem. As you can see from these pictures some parts of certain leaves went little yellow and in general few plants kind of falling down.
I have been watering them every 2-3.5 days with ~130ml of water and I use Still mineral water Pura with Ph 6.4 at source.
My soil is very good drain able but sustain water and even suck it back after it runs off to plate
And they only been 15 days into growing. Should I make sure soil is nicely moist without of fear to over water it as I said drainage is brilliant.
Please ask questions if you need any clarification.

Don't think watering is ur problem. Leaves look like a nute burn. u should lay off the nutes for a while until they get a bit bigger. also ur pots are going to be too small when they get bigger. should consider getting larger ones.

Thanks for quick reply. I don't use any nutes, only those in soil . Do you think mineral water might be a problem ?
About my pots, I don't want them to grow very tall. They are pure indica Ata Tundra and suppose to be quite small anyway.
Do you think I should get bigger anyway ?

2 gal pots, it looks like u over watered

But yesterday when I discovered them in that state soil was very dry.
What is recommended dosage of water required for plants that size ?

Good advice. Where ph matters the most is at the roots/soil, get a reading of your runoff, im almost sure you have a cal/mag/potash def cause of low ph. Also the trick with a coir/coco based soil is to just keep it moist, not very dry then very saturated.

The cheapest household stuff would be vinegar for going down and baking soda for up. But you have to be careful as some strains won't take well to this for a long time. Personally I would just invest in dolomite lime. Just mix it into the top layer of your soil and it will naturally buffer high or low ph plust will help with cal/mag.

Used Ph tester and it showed me 6 Ph
So are you saying that dolomite will balance Ph balance both ways, high or low ?
Sounds perfect to me. What best place for dolomite ? Gardening shop probably ?
And how much should I use it ?

Ah yes before I go and buy dolomite, could you please advice me how much soda I need to dilute with water in order to raise my Ph to recomended level of 6.5Ph ?

A ph of 6 is not bad at all (if your drop test kit is accurate) ph pens are way more accurate. Dol lime naturally buffers ph to around 7, farmers having been using it for centuries to buffer "sweet" or "sour" land. Much more natural for your product you are going to smoke! The trick to fixing ph problems is treating your soil and not so much your water solution, with hydro it's another story. It won't hurt to add dol lime to your soil as it adds cal/mag and it's sort of future "insurance" to keep ph in check during flowering. You can add about a quarter cup ontop of your soil and mix it in gently then water, do this for about 2 or 3 waterings.

I bought Ph tester and adjustment kit in aquarium store.
I'll change my water Ph to 6.7 and will start watering plants with that water. Does it sound ok ?

if you have nutes in soil like miracle grow, be careful how much water you use.. using too much water will release too many nutes and burn the living crap outta your babies.. that is the danger of using a MG or soil with nutes in it already..

with a ph of 6 you won't have lockouts of nutrients, which is good. Be careful with adding ph up and ph down to every watering as some strains won't like this. As I said before get yourself dol lime and apply as I mensioned. Honestly, for the next like 3/4 weeks DON"T feed them any nutes (it seems like they've had enough) and VERY important, wait till your soil is really dry before watering. To me your problem seems like a combination of over watering (roots always too wet) and a cal/mag deficiency with the dol lime will fix too and help keep your ph in check.

Looks like it is over watering but I don't understand why ? When these problems started to appear slightly, before I watered soil was dry.
If soil is still humid, not wet but humid inside should I not water them ?
Oh guys help please, I don't want to loose my girl
What is best course of action in over watering situation ? I'm thinking that I need bigger pots anyway, so get slightly bigger pots with dry soil and it might absorb some of the water from them ?

If you have tried the rest and it is still getting worse, i'd say root bound. I have a plant that was smaller then that get root bound in about the same size pot... never know check it out. Good luck

Will buy new pots in a couple of hours.
I have 5" or 15cm pots. So I'm thinking about 7-8" , don't think my growing area would support bigger sizes.
Maybe I shouldn't plant 5 plants in that area, I was thinking in case few of them will turn male at least I would have few females left.

Stay with me guys, I will update thread in about 4-5 hours and tell you what roots look like.

you said you were using mineral water. What's the mineral content? Should say on the label. Be careful with that stuff. It can have very high levels of cal, Mg and sodium. And it varies a lot between brands and springs. Too much cal and Mg will lock up other nutes and you don't want that.

I would pot those babies up into new pots/soil and water in with standing tap water (or even better rain water) at a PH of 6.8 ish. Then don't feed them anything for 2-3 weeks, just plain PHd water.
