Is it time to harvest?

Well this is my first grow. I first used 1 42W cfl to induce flowering and about 7 weeks into the flowering I introduced a 2nd light. About 65%-75% of the pistils have turned crimsony, but the calyxes have not swelled, to the point that the pistils still stretch away up to 3-4mm from the calyxes. Does this mean i should wait to harvest, or take up the oppertunity now. Also most of the leaves have shrivled up, i heard that this was normal right before the time you should harvest.

dont worry about the pistils changing color too much. What you need to look at are the trichomes (crystals) when they are 75%+ milky you're about ready. milky gives you a head high and amber trichs give you body buzz (couchlock). sucks that most of your leaves have shrivled. Have you been giving nitrogen full strength throughout flower? indica or sativa? pics? the more info the better we can help

Well in sure what kind or evan strain of it. I have been giving it a 13-13-13 fertilizer (the kind in pellet form, it is also used to grow vegtables). I'll work on pics. Well i just looked at it again and their are these very milky white almost granules growing off the leaves and the bud.

get yourself a microscope.

i like mine when couchlock style...so i leave it there...patience is a virtue,especially with these ladies...

Well lets say i buy a magnifier... What would i be looking for.

I read every single harvest thread I come across to prepare me for my harvest. I want something smack dab in the middle of a mind/body high.

nope...get a 30x microscope for like 10 buks...look @ the colors of the mushroom shaped trichomes..not the pistils..

I just got a 45x jewelers microscope on Ebay for $1 with $2 Shipping. Love em or hate me, the Chinese can pump out items for cheap.

how many weeks total have you been flowering for? Those still look pretty young IMHO.

Would a 60X - 100X magnifier be to strong.... or would it work?
