I have almost completed my 1st Soil grow in my cab, but have been wondering...I also grow 2 DWC ladies and I always PH balance the DWC's water/nuits, But in my soil pots I use straight tap water.. Should I maybe bother to PH balance the soils water/nuits as well or not ??? all replies would be happily received :) - STELTHY :leaf:

Ok...Is the recommended PH for Soil grows 5.5 - 6.5 ?? Only my 2 soil plants have dry, lime green leaves... The thing thats confusing me is ; Before I started the soil plants the dude at the Grow-Shop assured me that straight tap water was fine..I mean apart from a minor accident my DWC plants are always dark vibrant n healthy looking, But the Soil is complete opposite. At 1st I thought Magnesium (MG) deficiency but since treating them with that the leaves have remained lime, dry & spinderly, Do you think an adjusted PH would be the answer I am looking for.. If so whats the best PH for soil grows? - STELTHY :leaf:

no thats hydro bro..you want 6.4-6.8...for soil..
5.5-6.5 is soiless or hydroponics..

tap water is almost always high..7 or more..def want a good digi meter, hanna sells affordable ones..50 bones -
and some ph up and down..less than 20$ for the set

measure, adjust, then check the runoff comming out the bottom of the container..make sure your 6.4-6.8 range..i'd start at 6.6-6.7 with my nutes and water..then check my runoff..make sure its about the same or within happy ph range for soil.

also important to make up your water first, mix in nutes second, stir, wait about 15-20 min then check/adjust it before giving anything to them ladies ..
the nutes will adjust the ph a little over a few min then balance out..so sometimes you mix and read 7 but after sitting its 6.7..feel me?

no, if your water is 7 plus by the time you add nutes it will be 6. 5 ish, compost gets more acid as time goes on and causes problems thats why people flush, better to go coco in my opinion

I say treat it like hydro. What's the main ingredient in your soil mix? Peat? Yeah, that's hydro.
