Is it ready? Quick question....

I have a quick question. My plant is at like 8 weeks 4 days flowering, bubba kush, supposed to be 9 weeks flowering. I noticed over the last probably 3-5 days the Calyx's have completely swollen! First I thought they almost looked like seeds, but I'm sure this is not a male! This is normal, right? They almost look like they are so swollen they are splitting open! It must be really close to harvest, and this is normal - right?



Second question, in the second picture, I just wanted to show the very top top top of my stem. You can see the swollen calyxes. These are only the size of my finger tips each. Can I trim these for shake and smoke them? Same thing as bud, right?

Hi - it's not ready yet. Much more of the hairs should probably be brown. Most people like some of the trichomes to become more of an amber color before harvest. It's very normal that the calyxes swell like that, but i think you'll get a lot of more swelling if you leave it for like 2-3 weeks. Haven't grown the strain, so i might be wrong, but doesn't look near finished to me.

Yes - those are mature female flowers. You don't need to use them for shake - you could just smoke them ;O))

Here are some more pics - do you think they look ripe? In real life it looks like 75-80% of hairs have turned amber......?

My camera sucks - the first two pics have a flash, and the rest don't. The flash shows the hairs better....
