Is it normal to have orange pistils and no trichome development?

title says it. I have a plant, the buds in the middle are very orange now, week 5 of flower, but i see no trichomes. She did stretch longer than the rest of the batch, but the rest still have white. Her outsides are white as well. Could this be simply from lack of airflow or light? I pruned a little bit so i think that will help, but if anybody else has experienced this please help me.

My last grow had 2 strains, one was covered in sticky trichs at 2 weeks of 12/12 and just kept getting frostier. The other took several weeks more to start showing trics and never really did get very frosty... also the stalks were really short. I figured the frosty one would be better, but my patient really liked the other one so I guess the "don't judge a book by its cover" seems appropriate.

Bagseed Sativa... you'll be in for the wait of your life....
Middle bud color has nothing to do with anything... Strike that idea from your head...
You could have a Red blooming Sativa... of some sort mix....
When all the hairs on the top cola [which ever color you get] stop popping out...
And all those hairs recede back into bud...
Then you will get close...
Red/Brown/Orange strain colored hairs...
when "They" recede...
As it matures...
