Hello family I did a run with DJ short blue moonshine and it grew out very Beautiful. The problem was after harvest. A little back ground.I had the mom for 3years now and I only replaced the mom with a clone 3 times.I harvest the plants when the thc was milky to amber not one clear head in the buds.so flower time was 11-12 weeks.after dry time in the tent for a week then to the jars.I cured the buds for 3weeks and to my surprise the bud didn't have much smell. I know I did everything by the book.so is it me? I gave a friend or two some buds and they told me it didn't.Have much smell but it smoked Very well.so I'm thinking Its the plant.all feedback is Welcome. Th

some of the terpenoid flavors evaporate above 70 degrees , heard it on jorgecerventes.tv I think. if they were in the light the potency would be degraded too.
I quick dry sometimes in a hot area 80 - 90 degree indoor area but out of the light.
maybe it ripened past the diminishing returns point and turned to CBN thats the only other thing

Pretty sure you dont want your jars in the light. I store my jars in a cool, dark place and I have some amazing stuff happen over a very long cure process. Just opened a jar of blue mystic that has been in the jar in 3/17 and it smelled like fresh brewed beer coming out of the jars. The bud itself smells just like roses. Buzz is still hammering.

Light can increase thc degradation affecting shelf life of your weed. Temperatures too high for drying youll have uneven drying and chlorophyll will linger. Also can increase chance the smoke will be harsh even after an adequate cure.

it sounds to me like the buds dried too quickly and that is why you're not having that lovely smell...

I try not to schedule by date but go by what I observe. I look for an amount of dryness. The phase 'popcorn dry' is what people use for the outside of the buds and some stem snap. Then, into a container or bag to 'sweat'. After day, check it and usually open it up for a few hours and so on until it's just right and into jars.

If you just go by days you might be off by a bit cause of temps and humidity differences not the mention the size and make up of the buds. Observe and adapt.

This is an art.. there is no other way to describe it. To grow wine grapes is one thing. To make wine is another.

Also, I don't know that really well cured weed is overly stinky. Once you rip it open and start to dig into the core it should have a nice aroma but not really though the bag stink. Also, this is strain specific. Some strains are just more stinky then others.

Wow you are wright. I would let the plant hang and the buds be dry outside and the moment I put them in the jar for a day they are wet again so I burp the jar until the buds are dry.I never thought about putting them in a bag after hanging. But what type of bag paper or plastic. My next run is g13 pineapple express

I use a brown grocery bag.
Look for Rumple's simple cure. I have used it for several years now and it works perfectly for me.

I was reading this post and my opinion is always use your better judgment paper bags is the way to go after you get stem snap when you feel it's getting to dry then do the jar with some burp test till you like what you got then finish your cure I usually wait till the holidays to open and enjoy but I've only been on this site for five hours growing for 16 years but it's all trial and error try a new strain and do the same but use your own mind.
