Is it dangerous to plug my lights in to extension cords?

Warm wires or extension cords = excessive resistance in circuit…

Properly sized extension cords will not get warm…

Putting 2-1K lights on a 16 awg extension cord, will be problematic…

Do not cut that corner… Up size to a 14 awg cord… minimum…

Resistance/warm cord that has a constant load that exceeds the max rating on your cord will cause your equipment to fail sooner… If your friend has the exact set up, and he uses 14 awg cords, and you use 16 awg cords for your lights, I estimate your lamps will last 25% less than a properly sized cord… Do what ever you like, and maybe you’ll never have an issue… Maybe I should wish you good luck? No??

It still wont catch fire. It might not be good for the cord. My lights seem to be fine, been runin on tbe same warm cords for 2 years now.

I currently run 4 thousand watt lights on two orange extention chords to divid the electricty to other areas of my house. No problems. I also have like 10 fans on them. Your fine. They might feel warm but who cares? Warm dosnt start fires lol. Id be more worried about condensation or police...

Please, no one ever listen to this guy. Safety is the last thing on his list.

You can typically run 2 1000w's off a 15a 240v breaker. No more. Run a dedicated feed for each set of lights, and another dedicated circuit for fans and whatnot.
