hey evryone i wanted to no if its bad for a plant that just got its first pistoles if it was bad if it rains outside on the plant if it is what should be done? thanks for any answers in advance :leaf::leaf::-P

Nope, not at all...Don't need to worry about rain till the buds develop a bit more, but when they have airy pistils they'll love the rain.

Cover it. to help prevent mold and fungus. OK well scratch that, Listen to the man above.. I never grown outside.

Don't need to cover plants till the buds develop, I'm telling you, it's no big deal...They're not gonna mold or rot because they have no buds to trap the water in...they'll dry out just fine, and I find that plants enjoy a shower every now and then.

thanks man and one more question when the buds get bigger will they get mold if it raons on them

Yes, when buds develop and it rains on them, they will get mold, but not when they're just little pre-flowers or tiny clusters of pistils.

When Lighting strikes across the skies, it puts a natural nitrogen into the rainwater,... plus good shit that we don't even know about. Even if it just a little sprinkle, that rain water will do awesome good things for your plants. However, after a down pour, give the Plant's enough time to absorb the rainwater until they are completely hydrated, then shake off the excess, like a nice breeze would do. Save as much rainwater as possible, & soil/foliar feed with it. Cover one week prior to harvest when rain is coming. Hope this helped.

Interesting about the lightning nitrogen fixage ^^.

The question has been answered, but just think about a natural environment. The plant has survived and hundreds of thousands of years outside with rain and whatnot, and it is essential to bud to carry on, so rain won't hurt your pirty lil' pistils.

I'm new so I didn't know you should cover them when buds are formed. Interesting. Then what about all the people that have gorilla grows outdoors? It would throw up red flags to have a tarp stretched across trees out in the middle of the woods or in the middle of a field wouldn't it?

there's a whole diferent set of requirements associated with guerilla growing...But usually keeping a close eye on the weather report, and growing mold resistant strains are a must.

I never covered mine, they done well for 1,000's of years without help. Outdoors has good airation, breathing room. Unless it rains for several straight days, no problem. Foliar spraying with Whole Ground Cornmeal kills most mold, scale, rot, etc.

Yeah, you just gotta get a resilient strain, like NL or Swiss Cheese. After every rain shake the shit outta the branches (gently though). Air will dry it out.

I've done the shaking method with 100% success with full buds developed... but the key was it was only like 3 hours of medium rain, not heavy rain... if you got heavy rain in your forecast you gotta cover them with greenhouse plastic or something like that.
