Those are not tricomes in that picture.... The tricomes do not develop until flower and first appear in Bud sites and work their way out from there.

I may be using the wrong terminology but it looks like little clear crystals are forming on the stem. You have to really enlarge the photo but it looms like they are there. I don't know, Im also way deep in some crunch berry kush.

This is a picture of my girl. She is just starting week 4 of flower, you can see the tricomes starting to form. They look like clear balls of goo almost.. they start at Bud sites and not the stem area... The white fuzz is just normal plant growth and doesn't indicate sex. You will be able to tell if it's a female it's pretty obvious once you have seen it a few times.
