Hi guys, I am planning on growing a clone in my indoor setup and I am wanting to use a 5 gal for my final pot.
So I am wondering if it would be okay to place a clone straight into this pot size, or do you think this may have negative affects such as radically slowing down the growth for a while, do you think it would be better to pot to a 1 or 2 gal first and then into the 5 gal later? I want to transplant as little as possible, but dont want to put it straight into too big of a pot if its will have negative affects, my main concern was that i obviously wont be able to get runoff for a while when the plant is still small, which i know is very important in coco.
I also dont want to leave it in too small of a pot for too long and limit its size though, as plants will generally grow according to the available root space. Im just not that comfortable with transplanting plants larger than seedlings, I find it can sometimes stunt a plant badly (at least in my experience) but ive barely grown in coco at all so id like to hear your experiences with transplanting in coco, and your opinions on what i should do.
Any help or advice is much appreciated.
