Is Coco coir worth adding to soil.

I am prepping my outdoor soil for next years grow and was considering adding coir to the mix. I have a high clay content in my soil here. My question is coir worth adding considering the cost or should I stick with a manure perlite mix? I have never used coir in large amounts with my soil mix.

I wouldn't add perlite. Adding organic matter is the best way to aerate clay soil. Compost, manure, grass clippings, etc...
