My buddy let me try his 'clonex clone solution' and clonex rooting gel for my new batch of aeroponic clones. I understand the rooting gel, but I've read people say the added solution is unnecessary and can possibly lead to problems (bacterial etc.)

Clonex is cheap and it works pretty good for me, but the best I've had was also kind of expensive. It was Botanicare's Dip n' Grow

i have cloned with it and without it, while roots seem to start weather you use it or not i have noticed that at least for me the roots start in bigger more healthy clumps with the gel and grow a fair bit faster. i have never used clonex tho, i used root tech or something like that (the technaflora one).

I've used both for over 30 years and still do.

The gel for dipping the clones in and the solution to re moisten the rockwool cubes.

No experience with other methods.

Wet

I tried a few time without clonex (im a user) and the roots seemed the same but I lost around 25% of them before roots came. I think clonex is good for making sure you don't get stem air bubbles as much as it is at actually getting roots going.
