Is anyone else still upset about the Gulf Oil Spill?

I know I sure as hell am, I don't know every detail but I know many nations offered to help immediate after the rig blew up and yet our President said "no thanks" and sat on his thumb .....

I'm not talking about just the oil spill, I'm talking about the lack of urgency of our federal government, same lack of urgency many slammed Bush for during Katrina (I'm no Bush fan), the sudden moratorium on drilling as a response as well as a back and forth blame fest. I'm sure I can find a couple videos of Pelosi or Obama pointing fingers; point being is said antics are childish and solve nothing, why couldn't President Obama step up to the plate?

You know I hope the earth cleans itself of humanity if we can't do a better job of preserving it than instances like this. Why is it the only after a year people just don't care as if it doesn't matter how it happened or was handled?

yes, I don't know every single detail, I'm going to find out but I know that there is no reason to wait 9 friggin days before even making a god damned press release on the subject when your the president of the USA.

You can say what you want on the sidelines but if you were one of the people who lived there and saw miles and miles of oil slicks just on the surface with not a sign of any effort to clean it up go on and grow for weeks and weeks I think you might have a different perspective.

I would say Perry is an idiot, lol.
As for the blame, I believe as BP owned the rig and knowingly drilled without taking all the precautions they are 100% responsible, I also believe that this should've been a wake up call for the government run agencies to start enforcing standards (not set in motion new standards).

You bring a good point here, being "the people's champion" wouldn't Mr. Obama want to react to this as quickly as possible ?

The only problem with that is that you hurt the fisheries and subsequently related workers who rely on seafood sales and tourism further victimizing them even after the spill's physical evidence is gone.

No, I understand what your saying and I'm not saying I would trust anything from there either, I am saying that this spill is still affecting many people from that area to this day so on that note i am furious about it.

yes, it really fucking sucks! I would buy my share of fish and shrimp! I just love deep frying shrimp outside and smoking a fat joint! now i cant enjoy it, but i do understand as well that this spill has affected many people financial!

there was also haliburton (cheneys old company) and transocean, who's profits were also up..
obama(any pres) can't do shit about it so he shouldn't get the blame.... its everyone but the presidents..

its the damn congressmen and senators that are so bought off no pres. can touch them unless they stop lobbying, or start term limits....

The problem is government over-regulation. G men forced the oil companies to drill offshore where its obviously less safe than oil abundant areas on or closer to land. There's more than enough areas here to tap into to break our oil dependency. However we always have to do things ass backwards in America. Just like how we shut off the water in Cali and turned it into a dustbowl to protect the Delta smelt...an invasive fish the size of two fingers. Who cares if something like 70% of produce comes from there.

Hell Yeahz. The Delta smelt is the spotted owl flavor of the month. After the damage is done, many years later, a study will show it was all hokum. It will barely be reported on, and the Eco-Loons will have already moved on to their next fabrication. At least the nutjobs are shitting in their own back yard this time, coming to a state near you.
