Is a 40 watt incandescent good enough for 1 plant?

So by all means...you will use them...but you want the blueish light ones for vegging (beginning stage) Cool white is the generic name for the blue cfls and the color rating is about 6500 k. Warm whites are the generic terms for the orangish cfls. Their color rating is about 2700k.

You will need minimum of two 6500k (cool white) 23 watt (100 watt equivilant) cfls to veg a plant for the first month. REad the cfl sub-forum on this site.

Use only 6500k for veg......they make your plant grow short and bushy........2700k-3000k expect to have a stretchy plant.....no matter how many you use the internodes will be spaced far apart..........they have packs of cfls at home depot for pretty damn cheap...incandescent have a good spectrum but are way too weak to do anything for plants...those low wattage cfls will do the plant more justice than that incandescent bulb
