My bad as well, I assumed you were talking about a 150w HPS.
Ok if you're talking equivelant then probably not - 100 actual watts would be good.
so what dose equivalent mean goo or bad to use and if its not a 150w then what is it

When you buy a CFL, it will say on the package something like:
27w 100w equivelant. Means the bulb is actually 27w, but it puts off as much light as a 100w incandescent bulb. You want to go by the actual watts.:peace:
2600 lumens - hard to say what the actual wattage is then - I know the 27w CFL's put off about 1400 lumens per. If it's 2600 lumens you'll only need 2 of them. It's recomended to have a minimum of 3000 lumens per square foot, I think, to grow - and better at 5000 lumens.

Doe eyed is correct. 3000 lumens per square foot is whats needed, 4-6k recommended. Full direct sunlight in the height of summer the sun does about 12,000 lumens per square foot.

Like i thought it is a 42w CFL. I use CFL's and 2 will work for one if you don't get to massive.I grew this NL mother starting with one 23w CFL and then eventually up too 3 42w CFL. If you got the money more is better . Just keep the CFL close to the plants.
