Is 800 watts too much juice for an average apartment?

Im moving to go to school and Ill have to live in apartment. I have two 400 watt ballasts and I was hoping to use both from start to finish (MH and HPS for full spectrum the whole way). Im just concerned if this will be a suspicious amount of electricity consumption for a 1 bedroom apartment. Do any of you guys grow in an apartment? How many watts are you running?

does the apartment owner pay for electricity? If not, I certainly wouldn't worry about two 400's. First off, the electric company wants your $$s. Second off, that is really not too much electricity. It'll probably add $60-$100 per month with that config. You could have a kickass aquarium, or super computer workstation and they would draw similar power. So it's highly doubtful that you will raise any flags. Hope this helps!

You should be fine. I've grown with 2 400w HIDs in an apartment closet

And including all my other electrical devices (fans, ac,pumps, etc.) i was pushing around 1400 watts almost constantly with no problems, but that was on a 20amp circuit.
