2 weeks is enough if you are desperate for a smoke. Some of the grassy flavor and harshness will be gone, and the buzz will be stronger than with uncured weed. If you cure for 2-3 months you can get the full flavor to come out. The high will also be enhanced, as the more subtle effects become more prominent. A 3 month cure brings some of the unique characteristics that make a strain special, and I would highly recommend that, if you have other weed to smoke in the mean time.

i do a month min. and it tastes great! longer is better, but most seem to dry it up quickly to turn it.

The grass smell is usually from harvesting to early and high temps while flowering combined with drying cut bud to fast.

yea I kinda rushed it last grow..this is my first non auto grow and is growing godbud which I heard has good flavor..so I want to cure it pretty good..only scares me cause I always end up smoking it

Do these simple things:
1) Dry trim the flowers. Do NOT wet trim. Let me say that again because it's probably the most important point. Do NOT trim immediately after cutting the plant down. Take off ONLY the largest fan leaves and let the sugar leaves and smallest fan leaves remain. These leaves will wrap around the flowers as they dry and retain MUCH more aroma in the final product. Trust me and all our trimmers - the actual process of dry trimming is way easier than wet trimming.
2) Dry slow. Go spend twenty bucks at Home Depot and make some drying boxes like these so you can control the process more precisely: https://www.rollitup.org/t/knott-boxes-for-better-drying.857080/#post-11228421
3) Try to dry for at least 7 days, even better if you can stretch it to 10-14 days. Once you can feel a slight “snap” in the stems but no breakage it’s time to trim. NOW whip out those Fiskars and go nuts. Once you’ve finished trimming the nuggets, cut them off the stem into a large 5-gallon plastic bucket with snap on lid. Not perfectly airtight but good enough.
4) Open the buckets every day or so for the first week or so to “burp” them for only a few seconds. After first week put em in a dark, cool place and leave em alone. Wait two more weeks and open em up. If you like glass jars now’s the time to utilize them. Red Ball Ace Hardware is a great place to get the bigger two quart and gallon sized Mason jars here in So Cal.
5) Put in a 62% Boveda bag, screw on the lid and they can be stored for months and months. Our Super Lemon Haze strain gets ridiculous as it passes the three month mark. More than one Collective Buyer from the larger LA clubs has remarked it’s the best example of the strain they’ve ever seen.
This is our experience. Please take what you need and leave the rest.

^^^i've dry trimmed, and wet. for me, wet is easier. i have never had a problem with aroma. no disrespect, but your suggestions for curing, sounds like a recipe for mold. i've left the lids on for 2 days and gotten mold. opening them up for seconds, and leaving lid in place for a week, no thank you...

Cool. If you like to wet trim please continue. For us mold is really not a problem because after harvest and removal of the biggest fan leaves the buds are hung in cardboard boxes with great big flaps cut in them to allow for good airflow for the drying process. We only put them in lidded jars AFTER the proper moisture level is reached. I can see where putting them directly in air tight jars at too high a moisture level will cause mold, but we just don't do that.

69% is a bit high and is commonly used for cigars. Around 62% is just right for cannabis. Boveda makes 62% bags too. I've used 75% bags to rehydrate buds that have gotten a bit too dry. Amazing products.

Ahhh. I always have an issue sealing the mason jars so maybe these bags will help. Randomly my mason jars will pop. Its not offgassing from baddies as empty jars do the same.
So if i put bud at 65% in a 62% bag it will slowly make the bud 62%?
