irritated with edibles

No matter what kind of edible I have, I simply can not get high off of them.

I've tried Korovas, Kickerdoodles, Kiva Konfections, Lazy Mae's,home made edibles, friend's edibles.. none of them work.

Does anyone else have a similar problem? How can I fix this? Am I doomed to never enjoy edible cannabis? :(

I felt the same way. I tried so many different edibles without any great results. Until I tried North Shore edibles. They were highly recommended after I told a dispensary owner I couldn't find potent edibles. I bought a pack of two cookies. He suggested I just eat one. I ate both and was knocked on my ass all night. I was barely able to function. See if North Shore is available in your area. You won't be disappointed.

stop buying your edibles, and trusting someone else not to rip you off.
human nature is they will rip you off, make your own.and you'll know what went into it.
I've tried all sorts of edibles, pills, tinctures and even creams. I kinda liked honey infused with ganja,
but nothing beats good ol' fashioned, tried and true, budder.

Make some budder dude, I make 4 lbs at a clip and always have some on hand.
we make it in 5 gal buckets, comes out looking like a large cheese wheel....but its green.
It may not be cool anymore but my favorite is still tried and true brownies.
nothing beats brownies for overall usability and ease of use.
1 tray of brownies lasts me atleast 7 days, sometimes as long as 10 days.

I'm curious how many milligrams of THC are in each of the edibles that you mentioned. There's no way that you wouldn't be able to feel a 400 mg edible or a 1,000 mg edible such as this one:

Even if you have had a high tolerance, I don't see how ingesting anything over 400 mg of THC wouldn't put you in a weed coma. If your tolerance is really that high, maybe you should try a tolerance break? People can abuse anything outside the realm of moderation, but maybe I'm just being a negative Nancy.

I thought the topic was going to be about physical irritation. The back of my mouth and upper throat burn from canna butter and canna coconut oil--both plain and when baked into cookies.

I agree with those that say make your own. I love brownies but stopped making them dank because I like them crisp, and the higher heat degrades the as the fat caramalizes. Drop cookie are the best when dough is refrigerated for the opposite reason as the brownie.. Cold dough makes chewy cookies. Warm dough makes thin crispy cookies with good odds thc is cooked out.

I've never decarbed as a separate step before but I'll try it tonight, 240F for an hour in the oven.
I'll also add alcohol to the water mixture and boil it off, got the idea from the hightimes video.

Inconclusive results but interesting: http://www.hightimes.com/tag/ultimate-cannabutter-experiement (thanks for posting this, Dan)
You really don't even need to do that long if the temp is that high*. I grind enough to break up the calyx's and decarb in my toaster oven at 200° until it smells like someone's been smoking weed; normally about 20-25 minutes. It's very noticeable pungent smell.

If you find all 5 posts on YouTube that make up the High Times series on making Cannabutter, they show the 4 different methods and 1 final segment analyzing the results. Unfortunately my link only links to video 1.

Go to YouTube, search for "high times ultimate cannabutter experiment" and you'll see a playlist listed 6th which streams the first five videos.

I decarbed the S.A.G.E. bud at 240F for about 25 minutes. The bud weighed 1.2 oz after that and nicely fit in a pint measuring cup which I filled with vodka and let soak for 15 minutes. Then it was poured into a West Bend slow cooker with two melted cubes of unsalted butter. I let that simmer for maybe 15 minutes and poured in hot water from my coffee maker.

The mixture was simmered for eight hours and then poured into a big Pyrex bowl using a coffee filter in a potato ricer (for compression). After freezing, the canna butter layer was removed from the water and placed in a smaller Pyrex bowl. A second wash of hot, almost boiling water was given to further scrub canna taste and smell. The bowl was frozen and final product was 4.4 oz. which was cooked into four dozen peanut butter cookies.

My best batch of cannabutter, I think. It came out the cleanest but potency is hard to judge; I've been using different strains each time.
