I like it here too - it's nice not to worry about everything I type. I've only talked to the admin once, and he was cool as hell when I first got here...

I need to look around the site more - there are some other CMH grows I think... one horizontal where he was growing just 4 plants but big. I think I'll go ahead and get a horizontal CMH bulb since it's only 50 bucks - vertical is cool, but I like not getting blinded every time I open the closet.

Can't wait to see your grow progress... wish I knew all the "smiley" codes here... ;) do they have a popcorn one?

Are you going to use the CRF / Sunshine mix / perlite hempy pot again? This is just a regular drainage grow right?

i am sure they have some CMH grow here? i will be honest the only thing i dont like about vert is how lanky they get, but it could just be some of the strains ive only seen? horizontal is what i would like to see since thats more of my style right now. i would love to see how much they stretch under the horizontal CMH? Many growers told me that they did like CMH because it grows too much leafy buds, but thats not the case with Gator. all i know is it grows some frosty ass buds.

one my Casey Jones plants i am using DM red with mater magic in 50% organic soil and 50% coco mix just drain to waist in a 5gal pot.

my Jack Heres are in 5gal pots with SS#4 and those organics from Xtreme-gardening. they seem to love those products big time, i just feed them right now with their compost tea.

i have allot of faith in the TRF DM red. i think it will out yield any of the other TRF's from what i seen on my last grow. only one way to find out and i am about to. my main thing with the TRF's i am testing with this grow is finish smoke and how clean it is since you can flush it. my last smoke wasn't as clean as i like, but i cant blame the TRF because their were way too many factors in that grow from all the problems i had. so in some organic soil this should tell me for sure whats what with how clean it burns. i dont like any black ash i only like clean while ash in my bowl

i should have used my DI Hempy buckets this grow because the temps are allot cooler then my last, but i wanted to go back to what gave me that big yield from my 600w led grow with the 4 plants. i will be back to my buckets once i get things more dialed in. this grow is mainly seeing different nutes for me.

Lots of good info_On your threads im starting to direct people who are asking questions about leds to look at your grows. They are that good.I just wish i had that much money to do so.

Sup Irishboy. Glad to see you here again. Read your 600 and 1080 watt grows and all I can say is DaMn! Who would have thought you could get over a pound from LEDs. I was thinking about upgrading from floros to hps, but now I might just save a little more $ for LEDs. Good luck with the grow and keep us posted.

So you have been following my threads on the side lines? or just read them now? whats ur thoughts on my threads and the info? i like hearing feedback.

thanks for support.

Yeah, I actually stumbled onto your threads while looking for led info. That was about two or three months ago? Your threads are actually some of the most informative threads around. There's so much information. And not just about LEDs, but everything from nutes to hydro setups etc. I always learn something new while reading your threads. Keep up the good work!

HI Irish Boy,
I've been trying to read as much as possible and took you up on contacting the guys over at growledhydro for a 300w led. They seem pretty cool and were out of the special priced lights but are still working to give me a deal. This will be new for me with led but I'm excited and believe this is the future for indoor growing. Trying to keep my costs limited while being a caregiver for my wife (breast cancer and bipolar) and son (chronic jaw pain). Hoping this goes well as the local Medicinal Dispensary's are killing me on their pricing.
Thanks again for the great information!

you will be happy with the 300w. its a great light. i here you on the prices at the clubs things is why i grow my own meds and the fact i know whats in my meds because i control that. sorry to here about the problems you love ones are having, your a good man for helping them out. MJ helps allot of people.

i will say so far every grow has paid more then for its self on my 1st harvest for the lights by savings on meds.

heres some link of those TRF ive been talking about, on my 1080w thats what i used and on the led vs HID side x side used these also.
http://www.dynamiteplantfood.com/ i use the red bottle right now on my Casey Jones, the purple bottle is also good and has more micro nutes. i truly believe these will beat almost any hydro store nute out their for a fraction of the cost.

heres the OC+ you want the plus one though as its a complete nute with all the micros.

read the web sites to get an idea of how they work, any questions just ask.. get ready to grow plants for dirt cheap

Nice man, looks like a good start!

On the CMH - I don't know about lanky plants - I think you pretty much have to LST a vertical grow, otherwise it will grow too tall for the light zone. I definitely didn't notice any extra leaves - the buds were all very tight and hard as rocks.

I'm going to start growing at a buddy's house again - I'll put it up here for sure. It will be vertical with the 400 CMH, trained to a cage or something.... for media, I'm thinking 4 five gallon buckets with a coco, peat, perlite, OC+, lime pellets, coffee grounds, and garden tone. I'm trying that mix with tomatoes right now, and they are going crazy.

sounds good keep me posted. the garden tone was the one i was going to go with seems to have a great NPK
looking good. That strain is perfect for lst, eh? Nice and branchy.
yes this strain grows real lanky and hardly any leaves. my Jack Herer is allot more stacked nodes and more leaves and more short and stacked. i could only Imagen how stretched she would be under HPS because i know for a fact these leds plants dont really stretch that much.

my night temps were dropping more then i liked when lights were off, so instead of running my 1,500w heater i went to the pet store and got a 150w ceramic heating light for reptiles that puts off no lite but just heat and its working great for the temps. saving a ton of money now on the power bill for heating. some of you having issues with night temps these might be a good idea to save power. running a 1,500w portable heater for a month straight is not run when the bill comes in.lol

Heres some of my organic Jack Herers in the 300w room, they are about to get flipped over to 12/12 any day.

Yeah, the 4-6-6 should be better for bloom anyway.

I just mixed up a couple of five gallon buckets - peat and coco on top with nutes, then perlite in the bottom half, then I put packing peanuts on the bottom 2" with a screen over them. Just got to try something new you know? ;) Drains real well.

Looking good man...

First off thanks for all the info over the years, I usually follow on another site but wanted to reply here because this is where I first began and since this is my first post I think it is fitting. I ordered the 180 watt unit near the end of your 600 watt grow and all I can say is this light is great! I grew out one white berry from seed in a 5 gallon smart pot with 4 weeks of LST in veg and harvested 5.75 oz dry weight! So any of you growers that are on the fence like I was you will not be disappointed.

Keep up the great Irish, work your making all of us better!
