intake vents on tents - bug safe?

i have a question regarding the air vents on grow tents like the secret jardins, homebox, grolabs, etc. (just any popular grow tent in general). I notice most are good at keeping dust out but can they also filter out mold and bugs from your tent? Or is the only safe route a separate intake fan with a HEPA filer? How reliable are these grow tents and how good can they keep mold, pests out of the box?

WOW, where to begin, as there are only 1 trillion variables in this scenario. The space will only be as clean as you keep it. All intakes need to be filtered (carbon or equal ) and the rest is actually you being ever mindful of what you bring into the room. I have a pair of dedicated slippers that stay right inside the grow room and my hands are gloved (nitrile) the moment I enter my space. Never go into your space dirty or sweaty if you can help it, and if you are coughing/ sneezing or sick from anything, wear something over your mouth, as I have read that our saliva is just about toxic as hell to many hydro systems water supplies. Please note, I have a wee bit of ocd, so I am sure I am being a bit excessive, but thats just me. I will always err to the side of caution.

i think its more probable that you or your pet will bring pest in, although they could come in through the vents...peace

thanks guys. i am already a bit of a clean freak, i got my special shoes for the garden and some nitrile gloves also. my cats are not allowed in the room the tent is sitting in (room and grow tent are vaccumed and cleaned weekly with antibacterial sprays). i guess i'm just wondering if theres still a chance of getting pests or mold if i'm using a passive air intake system, and if its really worth the risk. i will switch to an active air intake with filtered air if people tell me its not worth the risk.

There's always a chance of getting mold but that has to do with humidity. With respect to bugs well just do like they said don't bring anything in the grow room in your case tent from the outside. I grow in a tent and I haven't had bugs or mold.
