Intake fan for light cooling

Ive seen a lot of methods for calculating fan size: let me hear it straight from the experts (thats you rip fam)

1. Can I vent 6 1000 watt lights with one intake fan?

2. How much air am i going to need to move?

Im going to have 6 lights in a row in a 10x20ish room venting from one side to the other. Its a sealed environment.
Right now Im not sure if its going to be hoods with 6" or 8" ducting.. but it will be one or the other

1: Yes just avoid the 45 degree bends ......and thats the problem you loose so much vacuum

2: room size into 5(5 minutes to change air) equals size of air pump in sqft

I dont see it being anywhere near as efficient as using 2 or even 3 fans. I run 3 cooled by one fan and by the time the air gets to the third the reflector glass is much warmer which leads to variances in environment that have to be compensated for. You would need one huge fan and lots of big ducting to do that many.

When you air-cool lights, the hoods naturally get warmer, and warmer the further you get from the source air. Since you are building a sealed room, this would mean more ac to combat extra heat if you try to cool all of them with one fan, vs two fans. It's not 100% necessary(if your ac is sized rite), but why pay for more ac, if you can build/design it rite! I would figure out a way to utilize two fans/two sources of air. 3 per fan. Hoods with 8" flanges would be best also.
Oh yeah, be sure and use insulated ducting also. Don't skimp! :bigjoint:

Cubic area of room
(1.2 x 2.4 x 2 = 5.76m3)
x 1.25 this allows a 25% margin of error
(5.76 x 1.25 = 7.2)
So 7.2m3/min
x 60 = 432m3/hr

A Rvk 6" A1 can handle 420m3/h
a RvK 6" L1 can handle 680m3/h

I'd use a 6" L1 or a 8" A1 with a fan speed controller
(actually I DO use an 8" A1 with a dimmer switch).

I would certainly not use ONE fan for 6 (or even 4) 1000w lamps.
The heat build up will be MASSIVE
and the air pull will be terribly degraded by the 3rd or 4th fan.

I'd use a 6" for 2 x 600w/1000w reflectors.

Maybe a 8" for 3 x 1000w would be OK???

Personally I'd do a few smaller grows before I attempted such an ambitious grow.
No larger than 8 x 4 x 6 with two lights.

I do 4- 1K lights per 1- 8" fan all the time. With 8" hoods of course. I can touch the glass on the
4th hood for as long as i want. 4 WORKS all day long, if hooked up rite. Now more than that, never attempted it.

2 fans 1 fan per 3 lights.(not any rule lol just recommendation) And always 8" if running more than 2.
If u put 6 in a row the last lights would just get all the hot air from the first and not cool like the first few lights.

I am using a 24000 btu mini split. Two zone. But I don't want heat build up in my lights or room as I also have an industrial dehu that gives off heat. Like someone else said.. no point in wasting electricity on ac.

I got 6 1000 watt lights going in the bloom room and 2 of the same in the veg room

I take it the dual zone is 2 - 12,000 btu's? You are going to put both in your flower room rite? 24,000 btu is needed, especially when you add in your dehu, co2 generator, and ballasts in room. I always figure 4k btu per 1 air-cooled 1000w. So I like the 24,000 btu for the flower room.
The 8" fans i use to air cool 4 hoods are about 700ish cfm. 600 cfm for 3 will be ok.
Do you already have the other 2-1000w's in ur veg room? Because i no likey vegging with 1k's. I like vegging with 600w's. Save some more power rite there to.

I'm just getting everything on paper ATM. I've got the hoods but I'm moving into a new house and I still need to build the room and run electrical etc

The mini split is 18/6. I was planning on using the 18k in the bloom room. I went with a co2 cylinder. I don't like the idea of more heavy equipment or open flames.

Think 600s for veg will take away from yield or no?

Go with 24,000 btu's for the 6 lights. That WILL work, 18,000 MIGHT work.

I grow many different ways. I always start veg under t5's. They go right into flower room, If they are going into a sog. If i'm growing small trees(4-9 per light)they finish veging under 600w's, usually mh conversion bulbs.

I do sog right now and its very time consuming. I don't think I want to train a large # of plants

So prolly straight vert! Thanks for the input. Wouldn't want to waste any $$ so I will prolly buy a bigger ac. I only got about $12k to go towards this thing. I'm switching fro. Soil to coco/perlite so I'm somewhat nervous. I just do 12 atm
