I know I need to install a a double pole 30 amp breaker.

Instructions say to use 10/2 w/grd romex. Does this mean to run two 10 gauge wires? One from each pole?

The photo that came with unit only shows ONE romex wire coming into the unit.

edit....I get it now.

It's two 10 gauge hot wires and a ground. No neutral.

Do I need 220v ballast cords?

The MLC-4x has the X type plug. YOu can use your 120 volt cords just make sure you plug them into the 240 volt side of your ballast first, otherwise you can expect a smoke show at minimum.
