Insanely Concentrated Wealth Is Strangling Our Prosperity

If anyone feels they aren't paying enough taxes all they have to do is write a check to the IRS, they'll gladly accept it. If they feel really guilty, pay double the going rate, or better yet, donate it ALL to the government.
What an astonishingly self serving suggestion.

Taxes work when everyone pays their fair share. The collective power of the money raised is then put to use improving infrastructure and services for the common good.

Your suggestion simply rewards the selfish at the expense of everyone else.

Those who are making the most (I hesitate to use the term 'earn', because they aren't making this money via wages) nonsensically pay the lowest tax rates and have the widest latitude in deductions.

That's the road to a ruined society and ours is no exception.

But it still begs the question, why aren't these million and billionaires who complain about low taxes just go ahead and pay their "fair share"? Bono is a prime example.

Because as I just said above, they understand that everyone must contribute, otherwise the most selfish benefit without it costing them anything.

You seem to really like this idea, which calls your character into question.

What is the matter with the idea? and why does suggesting people who want to pay more taxes go ahead and do it without govt coercion? The truth is they don't wanna pay more. If I was a billionaire I would pay more than required, I think it calls their character into question and yours too as their apologist for their hypocrisy. WTF? calls my character into question? It's late, you must be drunk.

I like how democrats are a minority in the legislative branch but this is framed as if they demanded the defense budget increased. They are culpable but you seem to be excusing the pigs who actually have majority control over all 3 branches of the gov't.

Before they raise anyone's taxes a penny, they need to make big cuts in defense instead of increasing it to 700 billion

I think we spend far too much on imperialism- err, 'defense'.

That doesn't change my opinion about taxes. People making millions can and should pay higher rates than those making less than $50k. There is no such thing as a millionaire who made it all by themselves.
I'm starting to quickly believe you watch entirely too much Breitbart and listen to far too much Rush Limbaugh.
I don't hear about Breitbart wanting to cut defense spending.

You won't get any support from me. I've been saying they're part of the problem for years. It's the core reason I'm a Bernie backer.
Yeah

Republicans tried to literally kill old people by dismantling Medicare and Medicaid. Republicans are the ones who stopped the repeal of Citizens United in 2014. Republicans are stacking the courts with odious conservative judges. Republicans are stepping up ICE actions and just recently targeted "sanctuary cities" to send the message that they will use whatever means necessary to eliminate resistance.

But yeah, Democrats are part of the problem.

Well, Bill Clinton did push for, and sign in to law welfare reform. The "Personal Responsibility Act". lol

Yeah. I can see how all the shit going down right now is equal to a bill that Slick Willie signed 25 years and three presidents ago. Thanks for setting me straight.

Yeah, Democrats are the problem.
