Inline Ventilation Help

I was hoping someone could tell me if it is bad to restrict an inline by means of the filter. For example an Activeair 6inch 306 cfm with a 16 inch odorsok. Do u think this would overheat the fan. Also does anybody know anything about the hydrofarm line of Active Air inlines? Thanks

I dont know the filter youre talking about but so long as its not a plastic bag, it shouldnt choke the fan.

The fan isnt going to work harder, its going to be less efficient.........It doesnt know how many cfm are moving past its blades, it knows to spin X rpm. If you hook the thing up and it noticably drops RPM, you may have a serious choke, causing a vacuum that needs fixing. I doubt you have a problem like that.

sooo IF it is choking the fan by having the filter directly on the intake, and a drop in rpms is present. Then would it ultimatly ruin the fan and/or heat it up?

it will wear it out faster yes but I find it hard to believe that a filter could kill a fan like that.

cool. thanks man. yea i hope. Also has anyone ad any issues with the ActiveAir line being loud? I have heard different stories from people and am wondering if it is worth paying more to have a can-fan or a vortex or something along those lines. And if the noise difference is not that noticable then it Does anyone know if the can-fan is particularly quiet?

dude Ive heard computer fans that make way too much noise as far as Im concerned. Have a lock on the door of the room your cab is in and use something to mask the noise.

I've got a ValuLine 6" fan. It's made by C.A.P. Pretty quiet. Not as quiet as my Vortex, but, at 2/3 the price, I can live with a few extra db.
