i need to order a inline fan and noticed you need to attach wires. i know nothing about electrition/wiring so would i have a hard time trying to get a inline fan installed? can someone try to breifly explain it. i was going to order a 6in inline fan from S & P. do i need to buy anything other than the fan to get it running?

you just need an electrical cord it's real easy. best bet is to buy the fan and get an extention cord.cut the female end off the cord strip wiresand hook it up. if the fan starts spinning the wrong way reverse the wire connection. no big deal you won't blow anything up. Make sure it's not plugged in when hooking up the wires. Ta da you have a running fan.

I just bought one at Home Depot the other day. They should have a black, green, and white whire coming from the fan. Cut the end off of a ground extension cord. (the female end that is) the extension cord will have 3 wires. theu shoud also be black, green, and white. match your colors, secure your wires safly and plug it in. It was about a 10 minute job. and it only took that long because i misplaced my wire cutters when i was baked. Good luck!

some extention cords don't come wired with colored wires i don't even use the ground on mine. just so you know if you have 2 wire extention cord use the the that is labled with a strip on it for your black wire. but if you get it wrong just reverse the woring like I mentioned before.

It is not difficult to do at all. Here is a step by step guide with pics.

Just place power cord to fan with light plugs on a timer so the fan kicks in when the lights come on.

I'd like to learn how to wire one of these up to a thermostat/humidastat so the fan only comes on when needed. If you are introducing CO2, ya don't want it sucked out of the grow room before the plants can use it.

you can they make them. there like 30 bucks a pop though. if you have a cool tube or euro refletor then you don't have to suck the air out of the room to kool lights.

I have one 4" fan I run all the time for my filter the one for light only goes on when the lights are on. i will be changing my set up soon to just when lights are on for all.
i have it on with the timer lights and if its kool enough I pull the plug.
