Inline Fan Placement

fans and pumps are simple. Fans SUCK, pumps PUSH.

So, you want as close to 100% of the air restriction for a fan to be BEFORE the fan. ANYTHING after the fan, including 20 foot of duct, is BAD. Where ever your system exhausts to the outside world, that's the BEST place to put your fan.

thats a pretty good common sense answer, not quite true, but true enough.

butd you want you want your fan to be located where convenient, is the fan gonna be pulling thru a carbon filter too? than place it close to filter and push air across lights. if there is still no filters i would still push the air across the light for 2 reasons, A)saves you fan life by keeping it cooler, B) will lower noise from ducting because the obstruction will offer some dampening of the airflows sound. if sounds not a problem tho, and i needed to get rid of a lot of heat i would pull vs. push.

but dude above is right, just not all the time, rules for growing are never really set in stone you just have to go with the flow.:D
