Israeli settlers storm into Palestinian town in West Bank as Israeli airstrike escalates crackdown
TURMUS AYYA, West Bank (AP) — Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed into a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, setting fire to dozens of cars and homes to avenge the deaths of four Israelis killed by Palestinian gunmen the previous day, residents said. Palestinians said one man was killed in the violence.

After nightfall, Israel carried out a rare airstrike on a car carrying suspected Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank. The drone strike, believed to be the first in the area in nearly 20 years, marked a major escalation by Israel in a more than year-long campaign against militants in the area. Palestinian media reported three were killed in the strike.

The fighting further raised tensions heightened this week by a daylong Israeli military raid that killed seven people, including a 15-year-old girl, in a militant stronghold, and Tuesday’s mass shooting, whose victims included a 17-year-old Israeli boy.

Then this:

Israel arrests 3 settlers suspected in violent attacks in Palestinian towns

Over the past three days, Jewish settlers have torched and vandalized dozens of Palestinian homes and cars throughout the West Bank in retaliation for Wednesday’s Palestinian shooting attack that killed four Israelis. Their ferocity echoed a deadly settler rampage in February in the northern Palestinian town of Hawara. Some Israeli settlers were detained following that attack, but swiftly released without indictments.

Three people. No report on what they were charged with. Just "suspicion".

Mind you that those settlements are illegal occupation of Palestinian land under international law. Not saying it's OK to murder settlers but it's also not OK that settlements are there at all. They are examples of what Zionism means today.

The government promises more arrests, but still. Israeli military were present and they were monitoring the situation when this all happened. Evidence of this is that "a car carrying suspected Palestinian gunmen in the West Bank" was taken out in a drone strike.. No way the Israeli military would allow "dozens of cars and homes" in settlements set fire by "hundreds of" Palestinians. It would be a slaughter. One cannot say that Israel was "protecting itself" when it let this happened.
