allow inspections and csa approved system only and we will be fine.

The only inspection should be for electrical safety. Have your system professionally setup and signed off on by your electrician...the same way you are required for any major electrical work. After that there is no need for inspections..it violates my privacy. There are no such inspections / intrusions permitted in a private residence for any other reason...why would I allow HC or anyone else to hassle me over plants. If they think I am over my plant count, get a warrant.
"Thats the one thing to come out of this that i hadnt even considered.
All the fire and mold issues are not strictly bound to growing mj" It's what I've been saying since day 1. The four reasons HC used to justify removing our right to grow are not exclusive to mmj and are actually quite rare.

Agreed
Before one plant is even germinated an electrician should have to sign off that everythings up to code and giddy up.
i agree with this but disagree also. Comes down to discrimination at that point and a risk of security. Maybe provide a receipt for CSA approved gear. When this program comes back it better come back fucking proper. I want to easily obtain house insurance. I want a photo card instead of a pink paper long as my leg. I had it for 2 years then poof no more. I want hydro tax deductions. I want a trade card that gives tax exemption at hydro and hardware stores. I want a 5 year renewal. Is all this too much to ask or do I have my head stuck up my ass? I don't think so...I've been dragged through the mud and publicly outed by my federal government. Enough is enough. I'm a Canadian and don't deserve to be treated this way.

Are you gonna require aquarium/planted tank hobbyists to get electricians to sign off on running HID lamps and ballasts or LED light arrays? I think setting maximum square footage for residential locations would be the best and if you plan to running more than 1000W on the circuit in the room then just like any appliance that might require say 30/40 amps of power you need to get an electrician to sign off with proper permits.

Yah yah some will cry foul but its either growing for yourself of sending you money to the legal entities licensed to grow.

Electrical permits can be taken out by a home owner. They can do the work and have it checked by an electrician..then by Hydro to pass the permit.

The issue here people is having INS coverage using HID lights ;)
A proper fire safety system would cover it for INS.

can always use Florescent s :).

I like everyone else would obviously rather not need an electrician and more importantly a city inspector.
I was simply saying an electrician is better than regular hc inspections.

I have never been "legally" allowed to grow any for myself so im simply open to the negotiations if thats what it takes.

1000 watts is fine for a 15 amp branch circuit. More than that would require a 20. ;)
More than 20 amps i'd be a double pole... :)

More than 20 amps it becomes a double pole... :)
I don't know the code requirements but aren't you suppose to be at 70% of the circuits load if running for more then several hours? I still think square footage restrictions for inside a residential building would be the best for us to be able to run in the long run, till legalization happens. If anyone wants to grow 20 lights and spend 2K per billing cycle on hydro then they can get a commercial/agri space.

false! you need to be a certified electrician to replace a receptical. you as a home owner might be able to pull a permit, but that's ussally done by the contractor.

Well requiring a licenses grower to disclose what the electrical upgrades are for might not be a good idea. I would only be comfortable if an electrician was licensed just for that after RCMP security checks. Same reason HC didn't want to give out the info to the RCMP. $50K could easily convince someone to hand over the list.

I'd be fine with that. I've got a small commercial building that I'm dying to move to.

not quite but ...... :)
That would be to add a any NEW branch circuit but you wouldn't know that
The home owner only needs to say he hired the electrician :) which he would have to do to have his work checked.

1000w @ 120v = 8.5amps
