indoor vegging

Let me put it this way. What is the light schedule that is often used for vegging indoor, for moving outdoor? I know that many outdoor growers start their plants indoor so that the plants will have some decent size and a head start on the growing season. Do people veg under 18-6? Help a noob out.

18/6 or 20/4 would be fine.
ive got a few going at 22/2 and it seems to keep them shorter, due to less of a stretch with shorter dark period. ive always used 18/6 in the past.

anything will work atleast 16 hours of sun a day to veg

18/6 would be my suggestion since it is the most similar.
