Indoor, soil, starting journal at 6th week of flower

I decided to do this because i often find myself looking at my previous grows to see how im doing, and so ill probably regret not doing the same with this one.

So today marks 6 weeks exactly from when i switched to 12/12. Im pretty happy with how its going at this point. The cola's are of a pretty decent size and should swell up nicely in the last 2 weeks.

What you are seeing are 4 plants grown in soil brought from a local plant store. Feeding schedule has been kind of erratic. I feed based on cues from the plants. There was a period there where i was feeding every watering but for the last week and probably from here on in its just straight water. The soil already has slow release fertilizer in it so you need to be a bit careful not to overdo it.

Plants look great. Be careful with the bloom foods. It's leaves that produce bud, not low N foods. More K does not mean you'll get more production, all it means is some vendor and manufacturer is telling you want he perceives you want to hear. Just giving you a heads up. I've done many a grow using only a high N food. Think of cannabis as a foliage plant that flowers, just like any tropical or sub-tropical foliage plant. A philodendron flowers for example and I give a high N food.

Thanks for the input. I understand that you want to keep the leaves healthy and green right the way through. Its something i've always struggled with. I thought this bloom fert was good because it contained a good amount of N and not too much P (i remember you saying high P foods in flower is bullshit).

I've been looking at some of the pictures on this seed website; http://www.mandalaseeds.com/gallery/Satori/index.html

It's beautiful. Some of those flowers are fully ripe and harvested, and yet all of the leaves are still beautifully lush and green. If i can get that every time (or even just once at this point) then i'll be very happy.

Also, just in case you read this - is it really true that you don't want to add plant food/fertilizer in the week or so leading up to harvest? Or is that just a myth? Seems odd to me that you would starve your plant at such a crucial time.

Flushing is a myth with the intent to make the smoke "smooth" while ignoring the terpene/cannabanoid make up of the bud.
