Great set up and you have to love sannie's. Just finished reading start to finish and must say I have really enjoyed. Since I am just about to add lights for flower and with the tips you gave me I had to come look. I look forward to adding KF to my lineup soon, just cracked El Monstre again and cracked an el monstre x el monstre I made last year. I also have their sativa queen, blue diesel and a couple of crosses I made from his strains. Ya'll keep up the good work, I'm subbed.
Glad to have you join! The blue diesel is one I keep hearing great reviews on, and something we've heavily considered getting. We haven't harvested a KF yet, but are close, and have been impressed with the strain through the grow cycle. There's a lot of phenom variety. The buds are dense, and coated in trichs. As soon as we harvest and get a little cure time we'll have a smoke report!

I love my steamroller. First pipe I ever owned that wasn't handmade from a can or something.
(my god, that means it's over 20 years old now...eek I feel old. I have a pipe that's old enough to buy booze!)
nice! I only buy glass, and they all end up breaking eventually :( Then again the more pieces I own the more picky I get when buying them and the happier I end up :)

i been hearing alot of hype bout this here Killing Feilds
Stay tuned! I'll be throwing up some smoke reports!

And for a slight update:

On the subject of KF, the purple pheno has till 1/16, however, it is showing strong signs of being ripe in the next week. Growth has become nearly non existent. All the hairs turned long ago, and now more than 95% have receded. It is starting to develop the glinting glow which seems to mark the final week or two with most of the other strains we have grown. It's still a little early, so we didn't bother breaking out the microscope, but we did spend some time pouring through all the grow journals for KF in sannies corner of opengrow (his forums).

Sannie himself does an op to re-up his own stash, growing 5 KF under a 400w in a tent. He ends up with 2 green, one purple, and two blue/pink phenom's. At 10 weeks of flower he chops the purple one, and leaves the four others to flower for another two weeks, for a total of 12. The purple KF he chopped at 10 weeks pretty much looks just like ours. The order page in his shop lists it at a 11-12 week strain, but his own grow makes me think that the purple might be an early pheno, and we might be harvesting in the jan 2nd to 9th window... I sent sannie an email asking him for any info he could shed on the discrepancy, but we'll most likely bust out the scope before a week is out to see what the trichs look like close up.

I hope to have pictures in my next update! :)

oh yeah, we also harvested all the OC clones. Grand total of 6.1 grams from 10 clones, hardly worth mentioning. Quite pitiful, but it was our first attempt at a sog, and that strain really needed 2 weeks of veg after clone instead of straight to 12/12. To compensate I vegged the tray of harijuana/big-wite clones for two weeks, and they are over two feet tall and so big we had to pull them out of the tray and line them up in the middle of our whole op (pics will come soon :D). lol, when it rains it pours! Anyway, it really matters not, since the whole sog idea is dead now that we moved it all. We'll finish out this last tray of clones, and after that focus on just the 6 primary plants we planned from the start.

that plant could have easily went another 6-8 weeks.
No, it was at i think 4 weeks or so in that pic. I cant remember how many days it flowered exactly but i do know it went at least 65 days. half of the trichs were amber we my buddy chopped it, wet was almost 6 grams i believe.

No pics. Seriously it was so small and pathetic it wasn't worth bothering. I'll take pics of the hari/big-w clones, they blew up, and we had to transplant and move them out of the tray :)

edit: actually, here are 6 of the 10, in the foreground. Not great pics, but those are them a bit ago.

Purple KF is going to get harvested tomorrow. It has been basically looking ripe for a few days now, we broke out the scope tonight and it's 20-30% amber, and resin coated (basically what we are looking for). As far as I can tell from pouring through grow journals 20-30% of them are ripening around 10 weeks, a few at 9, and most of them 11-12. Being an F2 there is quite a pheno difference, so not surprising. I have a suspicion that this KF was heavier indica, large dense coals with less cat-tailing. The pink one is behaving more sativa, so we'll see if it's closer to 12. I'd rather have let its replacement veg for another week or two, but it'll give me the room to move everything in veg from 1 to 2 gallon pots, and that's something that needs doing :)

I'll have pics up tomorrow night!

Can't wait for the pic's brotha! my KF are about 1.5 inches tall! ;) Can't wait to flower them out and I hope they are both female and it would also be sweet to get some purp buds like you did in that pic! I will be sitting around waiting for the pic's brotha!

Harvested the purple killing fields today!

Plant before harvest. Thing is falling over under the bud weight.

And a little trimming...

Almost done...

And eventually we get it all hanging...
DSCF0539.jpgDSCF0538.jpgDSCF0537.jpg

And have a pile of trim
DSCF0534.jpg

The odor of the plant is great, and our initial quick-dry sample was quite potent. We're a little concerned about the taste, since we didn't give it the normal 2 week flush, but we'll see. One thing I would certainly suggest to anyone growing this strain, don't assume the 11-12 weeks listed on the site is right for flowering time. Watch them closer than we did :) This strain has a lot of phenom's and they seem to range from 9 to 12 weeks from what I can tell (our purple was right around 9 weeks). We'll do a smoke report as soon as it's cured enough to taste good.

Didn't have the replacement moved by this point, but I'll get pics of it later. It's a little smaller than I had hoped, but we had planned on not needing it for another ~2 weeks.

So here's an update on what is in flower:

I also mentioned that we had a tray of 6 Herijuana / Big Wite clones that blew up. We had to re-pot because they go so large, and had to lay them out in a line in the middle of the whole thing.

for fem the purples are around 70%, the reg the purple is around 30%. The purple is neat, but from seeing it next to this blotchy pink one, I think the pink will actually be better. It smells stronger, has denser nugs, and seems like it might be more frosty. Time will tell, still up to another month on the pink one. No doubt though, the purple has major novelty appeal, and I can't wait to see some of my friends trip out at the purple bowl I hand them to 'green', muahahahaha!

sorry it took so long, was a busy day that's still not over :)

just read all 8 pages - gr8 growing dude

thanxs for popping into my grow to advise - u really know your strains etc.. i had to google duplex and it seems u r in the type of house i am lloking to move to - though the ideal for me would be a completely detachatched house to FURTHER AVOID THOSE PEASKY NEIGHBOURS:D opps caps

i also grow a partner (he is the money) - u known each other for a long time?

are u still using the one 400w for the grow room? and how powerful is your florecant in your veg room?

got loads of questions i would like to ask but cant really think right now:D

happy new year and yeah lets hope its a really sticky one:p

We have known each other for almost 30 years now, so ya I'd say we had known each other for a long time. we now flower with a 400w MH and a 400w HPS for full spectrum and our t5 for veg is a 4 foot long 8 tube around 400w. We love questions, with the legal situation here this is the only outlet we have to show off our hard work :)

The purple Killing Fields is dry and cured. We'll do a smoke report as soon as we get a chance. I did get a chance to take some pics of it ready to smoke.

DSCF0590.jpgDSCF0588.jpgDSCF0586.jpgDSCF0597.jpgDSCF0599.jpgDSCF0601.jpgDSCF0582.jpgDSCF0584.jpg

Final yield was 37 grams. Just a bit under the 1.5 oz min we expected, but this crop spent much of its time in a cramped closet, and we haven't finished the venting and lack mylar (that is all getting fixed in the next 7-10 days when some new supplied arrive :D). It was also tied with the harijuana/big-wite for smallest looking yield, so we'll see how the next group goes.

The pink Killing fields and the Lavender/Blueberry-Sativa will be harvested in the next 7-10 days. Everything else should be spread around next month.

Herijuana / Big Wite. We're not very impressed by this plant, but clones from it seem to be doing better, so could be unrelated to strain. We'll see when it's finished, and it still has a while to go...

Harijuana / Big Wite clones. These seem to be doing better than the larger plant...

That's it for now! Hope your 2011 has been good so far!
