I like that one too. The one called "fanta 2 cola" is actually much bigger and fuller, but the one you blew up is on more of a hill, so I'm able to get under it. Makes it look like it is towering over me a bit more. Even standing level with it, it's still pretty big though.
You're right about the trimming man. I'm trimmed a few braches off 3 of the 4 plants (the Northern Lights isn't close enough yet) and it took me over an hour to trim maybe an oz worth. I'm not sure why everyone says they sometimes cut the cola first and leave the lower branches to ripen more. In all 4 of my plants, the smaller, lower branches are ripening much faster than the cola. The branches I cut the hairs are at least 75% brown and shriveled up, while the main colas and bigger branches toward the top are still sbout 75% white. Thinking it's due to them being outside where all the branches are getting about equal light, not just the tops. I'm probably going to take a pic of what I cut a little later. Might seem like I'm raping these plants, but in all honesty it's a drop in the bucket compared to what's out there. I didn't even touch the Northern Lights yet. I think I said this before, but in the spring when I first started all this, I never would have guessed it would turn out so well (knock on wood). It's actually a little overwhelming to me. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all this pot, lol. Even when my brother is home, an 1/8 lasts us like 2 weeks, haha. I think I might vacuum seal a good portion of it. There is the obvious option, which I don't think they like us saying on the forum and would rather not have in writing anyway, but I'm not sure if I want to go that route.

Yea my lowest branches actually matured first on the shortrider too, I think its because through the begining of flowering I had a low cfl shining on the very bottom buds.. Who knows lol.. I figured what ever looks ready, cut it!! I'm cutting the rest of my short rider tommorrow, I'll time how long it takes me.. I doubt its even an oz worth but maybe close.. I'm happy either way because now I actually have an idea what I'm doing

Looking good buddy.
I saw you checked my thread out. It's been a good year here too. I harvested over a 3 week period. I was so busy doing that while my wife wasn't at home, that I haven't been able to get my picures posted. I think mine started and finished earlier because of the amount of light (or lack off) in the woods were I was growing.
But, your's looks nice.

Been a very busy week. Had to harvest the one plant on tuesday due to mold. Not very much, but I figured I'd chop it before it got any worse. I actually had to toss a little bit more of it the other day because it was getting a little moldy as it was drying. It's about dry now and it's weighing in at around 80g. Was out there this morning and chopped the Ceres Purple. It literally took me about 6 hours just to trim the damn thing. The last two look like they can probably come down this week too. Not sure what I'm going to do I really don't have the room. By the way they looked I thought I was going to have some time in between, but in the past week they've really progressed. Even the Northern Lights, which I thought would go into the first or second week of October, is starting to look ready. Gonna try to get some pics up tomorrow.

First two pics are of the Fantaseeds I picked the other day. 3, 4, and 5 are of the Ceres Purple. I'm eager to see what the final yield of the Purple (which didn't turn purple) is going to be since it looks like much more than the first Fantaseed plant and that was 80g.
2 down 2 to go. So far I am VERY satisfied with the results so far. I'm sort of glad I went with a somewhat less common seed breeders, especially Homegrown Fantaseeds. I had a few questions throughout the year and they were always very quick and polite in returning my emails. I've never seen ganja quite like this before either. Everyone I hooked up is very impressed.

Very nice bro! Damn you have a lot of good bud to smoke lol.. I'm harvesting my WW tomorrow, I can't wait! Oh I started a kandykush journal too, so when you get a chance to drop in I'm going to be using a 250 MH and 200 watts of cfls for these next ones!!

Looks awesome sonar! I think youll have no trouble passing the yield of that fantaseed with your purple. I couldnt update as planned due to shitty pics from the rain today but soon for sure. Keep it up they look awesome!

OK boys and girls here it is. I'm kind of in a hurry this morning so I'm going to keep this as short as possible. Due to the washout we've been expecting and have been having so far this week, the last 2 plants came down on Monday. I wanted to wait until later in the week or even the weekend, but both plants had a little bit of mold and didn't want the situation getting any worse. I dunno, maybe it was a bad decision and I should have taken my chances, but it's too late now. Trimming was terrible, especially the Nirvana Northern Lights. I think I went out around 9AM to and chopped them, having trimmed most of the big fan leaves off in the woods. Coming straight home it was around 11AM, and I was trimming pretty much non stop til almost midnight. Now I see why guys are willing to drop 2 grand on those auto trimmers. Anyway, I think I made the right choice of picking that day. I had to get rid of maybe like 5 grams per plant in mold. I was also surprised as I was trimming I found about half a dozen or so of those little green bud worms. So who knows how much more damage they could have done. Both plants I cut in Monday are easily more than the first two, so I'm expecting about 4 oz from them each. Oh, the final weight of the Ceres Purple came in at around 3 oz too. That Ceres Purple is really a great plant. Very nice smell and a little on the fruity side. Everyone who's tried it has absolutely loved it. The Nirvana Northern Lights still has no smell to it whatsoever and the buds on that one are probably the most solid. Anyway, I gotta go so here are a few pics. First two are some shots of the Purple nuggets. Third are the NL and the second fantaseed hanging (fantaseed up front). Fourth is a shot of a fantaseed cola and a NL cola (NL on left). Fifth is a closeup of the fantaseed. Last two are NL closeups.

Final results are in and a little dissapointed with my yields. Barely pulled 2 off the Nirvana Northern Lights. It looked really dense, but lost so much when drying. The second fantaseed plant, which I thought was my biggest plant, only gave me about 3 oz. Based on the size of that girl and the amount of bud sites I thought I'd be looking at double that. So with the Ceres Purple around 3 oz and the first fantaseed around 3 oz, I'm at a grand total of approx 11 oz this season off of 4 plants. It's a respectable yield, don't get me wrong, but for plants that were started back in late april/early may that's kind of pathetic. It was like 3 months veg time. I really wish I couldn't let the last 2 plants go another week, but I really think I made the better choice pulling them a little early. We got about 5 inches of rain in a 3 day period. Next year if I do this again, among other things, I want plants that will finish by Oct 1.
As for smoke, the Ceres Purple wins by a mile. Really strong sweet smell and taste. The Nirvana NL, which was odorless even while drying, is starting to develope a suble, sweet smell now that it's been in jars for a few days. I'll be doing a smoke report in the smoke report section on these two in the near future. As for the 2 fantaseed plants, that would be pointless since I don't know the strains. I have my personal thought on what they could be, but nothing definitive. The breeder said they can't even be certain.
I think things turned out about as good as I could have expected for a first time outdoor grow and I learned a lot for next year.
1) Bigger holes are a must. After I cut each plant, I dug up the roots and they were pretty root bound. I thought if they out grew what was there, the roots would propagate into the surrounding soil. They did a litte, but considering it's hard clay it wasn't to the degree I expected.
2) More light. Even though the Ceres Purple and the NL were in the worst spots, they still gave me a total of about 5 oz. I think that's due to being in the deepest holes with Sunshine Mix. My plant with the most light was in a very small hole, but still only yielded around 3 oz. My job between now and next year is to look for some better spots. With a little more trimming I think I could use the one over again though.
3) More water. I Underestimated how much water they would need, especially during dry streches. The 2 gallons of supplementary water they would get once a week with their feedings just isn't enough. After seeing the root mass, plants that size could easily take 5 gallons. Problem is finding a spot or spots closer to water. There was a pond close by, but it's a little far to be lugging 5 gallon containers. Maybe one at a time, but ideally I'd like to find somewhere where I can carry one in each hand if needed.
4) Better Seed Selection. While I got lucky and it worked out, definitely not doing anymore "outdoor mix" packs or anything like that. I current have 3 left in the Homegrown Fantaseed outdoor mix, 3 fem Nirvana NL, a Barney's Blue Cheese, a Barney's Red Diesel, a GHS White Widow, a Magus Motivation, and La Blanca, Mataro Blue, and BCN Diesel from Kannabia. While I think some of them might do well outdoors, I'm probably going to buy new seeds for next seasons outdoor and save what I have for any potential indoor grows in the future. Hopefully they all still crack by then. The weather turned to crap on me really fast, so I'm going to try for strains that will finish by Oct 1.

Hell yeah man I'm looking forward to it. I think I can do much much better now I got this first season under my belt. I tried growing outdoors twice before when I was younger but never completed a season. It's a lot of work but a lot of fun too.

Yeah man I wish I could have waiting another week or so but here on the East Coast it's pretty much rained every day for the last 2 weeks. Weather was pretty good all summer, then it turned to shit at the end. I guess it's to be expected though.

Good job. I think you and I had very similar results. That mold is a MF. I think we both did great considering the conditions. My spot didn't get enough sun, but it was so.... secure. Close to my house, easy to hall water, and the only way anyone would have found mine was by air.
Any way I had the same issue with rain. Don't necessarily think you need to change that much from what you did this year. The amount of rain we got at that time of year is atypical.
