indoor newbie concerns

I've grown outside several times and even though I used swagg seeds I wound up with some nice plants. I decided to go organic this year and got ahold of some miracle grow organic soil, MG organic fert dry, MG blood meal and Bio-Tone starter plus. I've had terrible results- small stunted plants (caterpillars partly to blame). I gave up after nosey neighbors. I am going to try indoor, so today I got some fox farms ocean forest, big bloom, grow big, a ph tester, and organic pestout. I want to use an aquarium light which has 4 65 watt 1000k/6500k compact buls, also 4 14 watt cfl's 2 6500k/2 2200k. I also have a 400 watt hps for flowering. I am wanting to grow around 8 plants. I've noticed people use several veg. and flower ferts- why not just one? Also I've never sexed a plant until late in the season- could someone help me with this? I would also like to order some good seeds- can someone who has done this before recommend anyone? I'm thinking of getting an aerogarden deluxe to have going in the back ground. Are these worth messing with, I know the yeilds would be low, but it seems an easy way to introduce myself to hydroponics?

introduce myself to hydroponics?
I've been thinking this is the way to go, so this time round I got an aero cloner, so far so good (sprayer already clogged once). If i can grow clones with nothing but water, nutes and O2, I might try something for veg. My 8 little babies:
