Indoor growing, light sourse help?

Im only new to this kind of thing and have only grown outdoors in a hothouse, but want to try indoors, so was just wondering what kind of light bulb etc to have..?

im only on my first grow but i bought a grow tent get them on ebay and 125 cfl dual grow light and hanger i only grow one plant at a time but with my set up its enough for 2 or 3

something you should think about is dividing your grow tent into two areas, a veg and bloom room. You can still harvest 1 at a time, but at least you can have some youngun's coming through the veg room ready to fill that empty spot

Hey Chris! I was once in your shoes and let me give you some good suggestions.Weather your growing in a room or a tent be sure to buy the right equipment the first time.When growing outdoors all you have to supply the plants with are nutes and sometime water but when growing indoors you need to supply all of the growing factors.I would suggest that you buy an hid system with a electronic ballast.You will be able to use both MH and HPS light bulbs.If you get a digatil ballast be sure to get a switchable one.With that you will also be able to use both type of bulbs.That is very important because you will want to use MH for vegging and HPS for flowering.Depending on the size of your room or tent you may want a higher wattage system.If money is not an issue I would recommed buying two 250w or 400w systems instead of a 1000watt sytem for this reason.Two points of light are better than one.You may have a higher wattage with a 1000w but with two 400w you'll get less wattage but you'll have two points of light that will give you more lumens and lumens is what you want when growing indoors.You will also want to have some side lighting as well for this i would suggest T-5s.They work great.Dont forget that you will also have to supply your room with co2.This in my oponion is just as important as your lighting.It makes your plants explode with growth and stop using it(co2) the last week of flowering.Make sure to cover your walls with mylar or a bright white paint and dont use alluminum foil ( thats for baking not growing)Reflective walls help to even out the light.Also be sure that you you have decent genetics,This will all be invaine if your seeds or clones are shit.I hope this helps you out Good Luck

I used a125 Watt CFl, plus 2 55 and 2 42 watt CFLs (I have two sets of those lights, 1 in 6500K and one set 2700K) for my first grow. The yield was very low. Bought an HPS yesterday. My CFLs will be used for veg and side lighting. Just saying... I thought CFLs would be good enough, but I have learned that HPS really is the best way to go!
