toxic gases? really? glad i use a bud box! from what ive heard the darkrooms are best in terms of build quality and price, their new cheaper "street" tent range looks ok.

The street version of the Dark Room tents, aka Secret Jardin, are reported by many to have light leaks and poor zippers. The regular version is getting outstanding reviews so far. There tents don't give off any gasses, something that hydrohut did for a time. That problem has been addressed in terms of product coming out now but there's a lot folks out there stuck with the hut of death. Ask a lot of questions about when it was made if you're considering a hydrohut and personally I'd wouldn't touch any sort of deal or transaction on ebay with the hydrohut.
That being said, I'm seriously looking at picking up the dr120 with accessories pack in the late fall to mid winter. Looking to grow 4-6 plants with soil yield every three months needing to 4-6 ounces. What type of lighting system would I need, an air cooled mh/hps converter and conversion bulbs? In terms of wattage would a 400 or 600 suffice? And in terms of extras that tent related, are the supplies the come with the tent good enough to the job?

Ok, i don't know if you are talking about the same thing as i am but i actually bought a grow tent from www.growell.co.uk because they had a special offer of %15 off. It's the best thing i ever bought and i have heard of no fumes :-s. Grow tents are a really good investment if you have the money and the space because they give you a clean, pest free, lightproof etc etc place which is really useful... Depends on your circumstances though because you definitely can't be discrete with it because your mum or dad would definitely be wondering what this massive box in your room is doing?!?! Hope i helped

I got the XL because the one below that was only £10 cheaper so i though, with £10 extra i can get this much more space. It's a little bit bigger than i need at the moment but then again i'm sorted for the future coz i've only started cultivation. What about you?

Man.. don't even ask. I got sucked into the hype of these Envirolights and shit. I mean, i know their benefits and shit but i have altogether spent nearly £150 and for that you can get a prime lighting system with those grolux lamps. I also bought the budbox after everything because the %15 offer came later on. I wana ask you about that utility shelf. Do you know anything about that because the XL box is quite large and how can you put plants on the utility shelf coz the containers can get quite heavy...

they are quite strong mate, seen one in the shop in a budbox and it seem fairly sturdy, how it would fair with a few 10ltr pots and 5foot plants on it tho i dont know, im gona buy the yeild/scrog shelf next week, yea enviros are good, i use 2 125w enviros for veg, but youd need quite a few in a budbox xl? and i use 600w grolux hps in my budbox

DUDE!!!! that's fuckin sick!!! My setup is nowhere close to that :P. That what i was saying about the enviros. I would love them for the veg but for the amount of money i paid i could have got that air-cooled lighting system. So what i'm going to do is buy the utility shelf and use enviros for veg and get a 250Watt air-cooled. I don't need that many plants to be honest :P. So the utility shelf, can you put it to any height? And which extractor fan set-up are you using? Lastly, did you use the same setup for the veg state as well.. safe

mate id get the 600aircooled system if i were you, your budbox will easily take a 600, and with the grolux lamp its only 20quid more than the 250aircooled system with the shitty powerplant lamp, youl only be kicking yourself that you didnt get the 600 for an extra 20quid, the 250 will be ok but the 600 is the producer man. the utility shelf uses the same allen key tube clamps that hold the light/fan support tubes up inthe top of the budbox, it clamps to the upright support tubes so you can mount it at any height. the extractor set up is the 5" extraction/filtration kit with an extra 2metres of insulated duct from growell, hooked up to their 600w cooltube kit. can get the light real close especially in winter. and no i have seperate room with the 2 enviros that i use for veg, 5 in flower 5 in veg at all times, sometimes take clones too.

The only thing is that i am already using 300 watts with my enviros and if i get 600, that's nearly 1Kwh and i can't afford that. What i was thinking is to separate the box with either a utility shelf or a light proof sheet and use the enviros 250watt for veg/clones and then buy a 250watt light system and flower 2 plants every two months or 3 if i have to. Would that not work? thanx for the utility shelf explaination, i really needed to know that bit... i'll buy one coz it sounds pretty tough and strong

yea that would be fine, but i think two plants under a 250hps is a bit of a waste of the budbox xl`s size, i woulda gone for the budbox medium for two plants and a 250. yea just make sure you light proof the two sections, maybe with some total blackout sheeting across the under side of the shelf secured with that silver heat resistant duct tape they sell in growell? you got a growell near you?

600s dont cost that much to run, especially if you only ever use it 12/12 like me, are you on pre-pay or quarterly billing lecky?

i do like the darkrooms, when the time comes to replace my budbox il probably buy a one, there will probably be loads of other tents available by then though. all the tents have some fault on them somewhere going by others reviews on their tents, wheather its the zip, or the zip toggles pulling off (mine did) the poles, the quality of the material, stitching, lightproofness, weak corner connectors(mine broke and i had to make my own) or what ever. wish i could start a company producing my own tents, id have none of the faults that most have and definately design them better than the current manufacturers do, id make a killing, theres a huge gap in the market for the "perfect tent"
