You might look into lowering the height of your light. They could be stretching so tall because of the distance. As long as the area is vented and canopy temps arent an issue put that thing as close as possible to the tops of your plants. How far I dont know, just dont burn your plants....haha.

As for the light. I got my 400hps from an electrical supply store for like 20 bucks too. Are these bulbs what we should be using for growing, or should we spend big bucks and get a real GROW bulb? Mine has worked so far, but can it be better?:?

thanks for the info bro,.........the light is roughly 22 inches above the plants and I've read that they(plants) tend to grow (vertically) for the first two weeks of flowering(because of the nuits. stored in the plant) and as far as the light its my first replacement bulb i had to get,......and i was wondering if i needed some sort of special growing 400 watt hps bulb or would any standard replacement bulb be o.k.? It was $20 bucks,.. so it can't be that bad!:joint::hump:
