Indoor fluorescent setup

Cooper Tools 600 watt Deluxe Halogen Shoplight with Dimmer Switch - Model HSL600 at Sears.com

My area is a 3 x 5 closet with a 7 foot ceiling. Does that light seem like a good investment for this area, or would you masters go with something different for that price.

I'm probably going to go with white widow/crystal as my plants.

It is a halogen, not a fluorescent. You need fluorescent, metal halide or high pressure sodium.

about how many watts do I need to light this area.

From what i've read 600 is plenty for the 3 x 5 and 7 foot high area i'm going to be using.

However never hurts to ask...

They have the cheapest and highest quality lighting. Being a newb myself I found them very helpfull. If you want a flouro grow then you need better then those t12 shoplights.
