Indoor closet spacing question

I have an indoor grow closet 4x4x8, 600 watt hps, I currently have 11 plants all in their 6th week, 2nd week of flowering. The issue I'm having is that a couple of them are getting so bushy that's it's getting harder and harder to space them out and keep the light low. It seems like the plants on the outside aren't getting as much light. My question is should I just raise the light so the light area is greater or should I leave it lower so that the plants get a stronger dosage of light. I will attach pics.... any thoughts or opions on this are appreciated. :blsmoke:

how far away is the light now? 4X4 600 should work nicely.

i have a smaller space but also a smaller light (400) i was having similar issues with bushyness......what i did was take some string and looped it around the bottom base of stems....then tied together, this did TWO things for me.....it created more light between plants and brought the lower branches up closer to the top cola's....been working out really well for me.....dont tie too tight though and snap your stems

Peace
