a sativia high is great for creativity and getting things done with indica it's mostly sitting watching tv, and I like the ideal of being high not stoned but you can grow a good sativa for couch lock and a indica for a head high if your growing your own meds sativa all the way for me.

I'm confused by a few posts that say INDICA gives them anxiety/panic attacks. I guess weed can affect different people differently. But back in the day, sativa is all that was around. Sometimes it makes my heart race, make me antsy and wird feeling, and nervous. I've gone to bed on a sativa high and thought I was having a heart attack. Indica for me is the opposite. It's calming and relaxing. But I do really like the hybrids, it takes the edge off sativa but you still have a good head buzz with the relaxing effect of Indica.
Sativas = great for partying, socializing and doing stuff. Indica = great for relaxing a few hours in front of the TV or listening to music, pain, and going to sleep

Sativas basically come from equatorial zones. Some sativas even say in their description if you live more than ten degree north of the equator you probably shouldn't grow sativa outdoors, it won't finish before the weather turns cold.

After over forty years of smoking the ganja I can say I still prefer a good sativa, it's probably why I have a couple going at the moment. Critical kali mist at eighty percent sativa and a colombian gold at seventy five percent sativa and the colombian is fantastic. I would also recommend for other sativa lovers, sour cream dna genetics and arjan's haze number one, greenhouse seeds. The colombian I have is from world of seeds it's a landrace strain.

As to the comment sativa is for old folks, well, I fit that description and instead of taking that comment as an insult, I prefer to look at it as more worldly experience than the young pups of today. When I was twenty I thought I knew everything, now I realize how little I knew. One of these days I'm going to pop my neville's haze and my hawaiian snow, maybe this summer?

Pure Sativa causes a higher level of paranoia then hybrid strains. It's sought after by growers for it's easy use as a base in creating a new strain and record THC content, but that means a lower CBD to THC ratio. CBD is what counteracts a lot of the negative side effects of THC including increased chance of schizophrenia, short term memory loss, lethargy, and inability to focus. I don't want a "pure sativa high" and would much prefer a mutt. I think you would too, you just don't realize that's what you want yet.

I live in Kentucky, and I haven't had the luxury of knowing for sure what strain of weed I was smoking on. If I went with my best guess as to which one I think I like best, I would say indica. I have always considered the best weed to give you couch lock. I like the skunky strong smelling shit that smells so strong you can't have it in your pocket cause people smell you coming. I like the shit that makes you choke when you hit it and cough up a lung with this big shit eating grin on your face. Then you just sit back and barely peck at the joint from then on cause you are scared that if you hit that bitch as hard as you did the last time you might not be able to make it. I LOVE IT. I'm sure that you all know what I'm talking about.

Why do we have to choose just one? Smoke both.

Over the years I have learned to start out my day with a good Sativa. For me, it is the Sativa dominant AK47 that I still have. It has some Indica, so it helps me eat a good breakfast, puts my mind in a good place. I get a great cerebral high, but I still feel smart which is important for doing work and dealing with customers. It also doesn't give me a body high which makes it hard to do work.

Before lunch I love to smoke my WW. It is around 50/50, but it is later in the day and I am much more awake than in the morning and the 50% Indica really preps my stomach for a killer lunch. Luckily my boss loves my WW and wants to smoke it during this time to the end of the work day. Once I get home, I still have a couple hours of working in my grow rooms, so I keep smoking the WW.

When I am all done working I pull out the Kushberry. KB is about 70% Indica. It gives me a killer body high, glues me to the couch and makes me burnout hard if I don't keep smoking it. It's the end of the day at this point and I have done all of my work so this is ok. I also like to keep a bong load of Kush handy incase I have trouble sleeping. Nothing like getting out of bed, smoking the Kush and going back to sleep.:-P

It must be nice to have such a selection to choose to smoke from at all different hours of the day. I have always tried to get my hands on as many good strains as I could afford, but most of the time I just have one type to smoke on. I have 3 strains growing right now for my first indoor grow with real genetics not bagseeds. I have White Widow, Super Lemon Haze, and Pineapple Chunk. I hope that I get the chance to try all 3 strains. I'm sure that I will like them all. lol

Everyone's different. To me, I could never understand why someone would want to be zoned out with the speechless and numbing couch lock varieties. The reasons I started out liking MJ years ago was the stuff that gave you a cerebral rush of energy where you wanted to go out and do stuff. Something that enhanced and gave a sparkle to my daily activities instead of numbing down any sensations. One is more conducive to life energy, and the other is more synonymous with just going to sleep. One is creative and the other is more brain dead. Doesn't seem like there's much consideration to concluding which is better and less likely to cause negative psychological problems asssociated with stoners. Sorry if some of this offends a few people out there. True, it's more difficult to find a really powerful Sativa than an Indica that has some real kick. But in the creative, go out n' get 'er done dept., a good Sativa has it hands down.

You couldn't have said it better!! The lazy/sleepy Indica has it's place, but i don't want to zone out all day and then crash!! It seems to me, in the 80's i got more sativa, because I got a lot of shit done playing and recording. On Indica the "muse" artistic side takes a backseat and that's a real bummer. I wrote/ played some great music on strains of Sativa!!! Most came from Humboldt and some was Mexican that illegals sold in the park during Regan's :spew:DARE :spew: "just say no days" depressing time for MMJ!!!!!! really there was none as you know, except government joints pre-rolled in a can for a very, very small amount of people. That some still get, at their door step each month today!! Go figure:-?

Sativas have just as many medicinal qualities as do indicas... They r just different varients of the same general species... They both r awesome, and both have just as important a role in growing for whatever reasons, whether medical, or other... I could never choose just one... Just like in life, we have to take the good and the bad, as well, so it is with pot, we take sativas and indicas, and learn to appreciate them both for their own, individual qualities... And, as for sativa/indica hybrids, thatz where some of the greatest pot has or ever will come from...

Even though Sats tend to grow bigger, their sizes and shapes and growth patterns r easily manipulated and adjusted for whatever space they have to grow in or around... It all comes back to the grower's skillsets... Ive seen untended Sats get up to 20+ feet tall, and Ive seen the same sats under 7 feet tall, and as bushy and dense as any nice indica Ive ever seen... This is where prunning and all that comes into play...
