In-line duct fan for intake vent

I am trying to create ventilation into my 5 by 5 closet with as little money possible. I did break down and buy a carbon filter with a fan for the exhaust. I have a 600 watt hps. Do you guys think this fan I found at Home Depot would work for the intake? I won't be using any actual duct work with it, just cutting through the drywall into the bathroom which is next to the closet and using the air from in there.
