In House Genetics BAD Herm Sugar Cane

I've had nanners a couple of times but it was always controllable. Never had a full on herm though. From what I read it happens with feminized seeds more. And honestly do search of any big breeder and you'll see compaints of hermed plants. It happens.
Its nothing to do with being fems. Full moon fallacy. Its to do with using cuts that have herms in their genetics and the trait is inherited by the progeny. The strain he's growing has OG, Ogkb/cookies in its lineage. Herms will happen with those genes. Comes with the territory.

All their genetics seems to lead to 100% Hermies. They sell full pack for like 250$ / 350$ a pack. IMO they will beg for selling a 10 pack for 80 bucks in the near future. I had same experience with a 350$ Rainbow Belts 3.0 except the genetics is 100% male instead of 100% hermies, i try to start an argue with Archive but they ignore my messages. Those guys are 420 scammer...

Welcome to modern hype genetics. They’re a blessing(ish) and a curse. Bunch of inbred cookies, gelato, etc… prone to hermaphrodites. Some of the old school stuff does it too though (looking at you chem). Cannabis has one goal and it’s to make babies. Don’t think it’s anything to do with feminization that’s some old grow bro logic. I’ve had more herms from regular seeds and I’ve popped a lot of stuff over the years. Take the L and keep popping more beans!

With the modern stuff you have to hunt through packs and find a winner that doesn’t throw nanners. Part of the pheno hunt. We run an amazing pheno of IHG Platinum Garlic at my facility she smells like grapes, throws down weight and absolutely dumps hash for extraction. I can bet there were some herms in that cross though but someone found the winner!

Just popped 5 sugar cane hope it goes good.
Here is one of the two girls left at day 37 of flower.
What are you grow conditions like ?
Temp and RH
What strength the feed?

Stressors...we need to know them.

I have a few inhouse growing...and a cross or two...stable as a table.

but conditions are ideal...feed is low...nice and easy.
So they did have some issues early in veg due to a debate on proper PH range for pro mix. However, once I corrected the PH they flourished. The 2 surviving girls look VERY good I have to admit. Cold stress is the only real stress that's been persistent. It usually ranges between 66-70F which is colder than they like, but still not in the danger zone. Here are some pics of how they look at day 40 of flower. I was pushing about 1000 PPM, but the last feed was closer to 1340 as I wanted to push them a bit to make sure they had enough (plus DG feed chart actually says 1390 PPM so I'm actually undershooting it a bit. Yes I realize one is hitting the lights but that's due to the extended veg period to heal them up from the early PH issues. RH 60-70%. Like I said the 2 surviving girls are model citizens as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I've just been lucky but I've never had a herm or male for several years until now and of course it's the most expensive seeds I've purchased lol.

yea in house genetics is known for herms on reddit theres lots of complaints about there genetics also lots of complaints about mutants as well. worst offender i think was color of space notice they dont sell those beans anymore and the person they did the collab with there instagram has been silent ever since that terrible over hyped drop. you get burned sometimes i grew a platinum kush breath that was absolute fire some of the best weed ive ever seen last summer too bad i didnt clone it pulled over a 1lb off that one plant. so this winter i said ah well ill plant another one just a tiny little one in a 3 gallon pot that one i took 4 clones it hermed 4 weeks into flower. im still determined to find a good cut of this strain i planted 7 seeds this run, 1 is a runt that is sativa dominant, 1 is mutant idk whats going on with it throwing odd shaped leaves also sativa dominant, the rest are all hybrid leaf expressions with the exception of one that looks indica dominant. i would not be surprised if i see more herms. the genetics are good when you find a keeper but probably best to run clones after an initial run.

Let me start by saying I've never had a herm issue in the 2 years I've been growing where I am. About 30 days into flower, one of my 3 Sugar Cane IHG seeds just produced a ton of seeds. Any damage has already been done as the seeds were growing 2/3 up the plant on the youngest bud sites already. I only have like 2-3 weeks left in flower so I guess I'm riding it out. Too late to quarantine or trash.

Safe to say I won't be doing IHG again since I paid $100 for seeds making seeds. I usually buy from the seedsman collection and I guess this is a lesson learned for me. These seeds were from NASC but I will say I've had 0 issues with seeds from NASC previously. If I grow more seeds I can take pics, but honestly if anyone is in doubt I can open the garbage bag and show you all the seeds. Fucking wild I've never seen them just appear so suddenly and widespread.
For what it is worth, I just grew out a sugarcane and it was the most stable plant in the tent out of 5 varieties. Super frosty and neon green. Sorry about your situation. Herms are very frustrating and as other folks have said, are an unfortunate part of the game with a lot of hype strains.

I have never tried a bean or cut from them, but it is amazing to me there business plan is based on a herm.
They must be making money on it, but i am not on board.

Has anyone ran tricopath from in house. Im getting a bad genetic herm right now. That or it just doesn't like my enviornment. 7 other plants are doing fine 5 total different cultivars. Not a single sack from any but this one.
