So basically got an email from my landlord saying, to my horror, he wants do a viewing of the house in a weeks time and im only 2 weeks into flower, so frustratingly ive got to take down my entire setup, tent lights plants everything and stick it all in the garage possibly for up to 24 hours in the dark. Now what effect is this going to have on my plants, is it going to fuck with badly or is this gona be ok?

cannabis flowers dependent on the amount of dark hours it receives, so they'll be fine with extended dark period.. it's when you interrupt the dark period that you run into problems..

Lol I'm having the same problem as of this week. I'm just going to unplug everything. Its already in the closet so all i have to do is hide the smell for a few hrs.

One time, I had 3 plants and one of the plants was 2 weeks ahead of the other 2. Come harvest time for the older one I thought I would try the "72 hours of darkness" trick and just killed the lights on all 3 for 72hours. Well, I pulled the older one out after 72 hrs and put lights back on schedule, and the remaining 2 spent the next 2 weeks just sitting there. No growth, no bud stacking....nothing. Like a bump on a log.

I tell you that to say this - In my experience I can assure you 3 days (or more) of darkens WILL confuse them and stall growth bigtime. So use caution with the period of time you leave them in the dark if you want them to keep flowering.

I agree with the previous posters that 24hours might not be a big issue.

A. I've had electrical outages from storms several times, not a problem to be dark a while.

B. I flower with more than 12 hours dark to begin with, in nature you flower with less that 12 hours light unless you live on the equator & it takes equatorial strains forever to finish flowering. I was taught a trick to flower equatorial sativas on 10 & 14. It worked and now I pretty much do 10 & 14 on everything. In flower, dark is your friend. Sex hormones rise in the dark and they grow in the dark too, contrary to popular belief. It's not all about photosynthesis when growing plants. I've seen grows finished on 9 & 15. If you want a sexing cut to show female or male, what do you put the lights on to find out fast? Not 12 & 12... more like 8 & 16. They show days sooner on less light. There's no rule that says veg. 18 & 6, flower on 12 & 12. There are a million other ways. And the buds grow just as big, I know that from 1st hand experience. I used 11.5 & 12.5 the first time I flowered indoor plants and have tweaked it down ever since. Think outside the box.

Also, I needed to change photo period hours numerous times. You always do it by adding dark time to get to the new time you want lights to start.

Used a bunch of 800 lum cfl's for veg at first, then got my 400watt digital grow light (ipower) mh/hps. Going to change mh for hps when i get home for the flowering

Oh yeah, I use a pair of 135 LED's for side lights in flower also... so when they're up to 3' the lower branches get light coverage. Works great.

One of the reasons they grow good weed up there in BC is because the higher latitude makes for long days in summer and long nights in fall. Latitudes make a huge difference as far as light goes outdoors. In southern Florida they get like 14 hours light on June 21. In BC it's still light at 10PM in the summer!

I was thinking of adding some cfl's alone with my hps to get more light while I'm in flowering. 900 lums for cfl's at the bottom of plant. What'cha think?

Sure, try it. I used to use a dozen 40 watt CFL's on the bottom but they generated way too much heat. (HPS is direct air cooled and glass plate covered). Switched to LED's and no more heat problems. 78° all the time now.

I had to leave door opened with exterior fan blowing in with the CFL's, but I did have 12 in there. I like being able to close door and not have temp. problems.

Dealing with a little heat problem now. I know it will get worse when i put that hps bulb in. Ordering my inline fan and filter tomorrow. Hopefully that will help out alot.

Set the timer to start my 12/12 tonight, then which my mh to hps. Getting 6" clip fan to help with the heat until my inline fan and filter comes. Saw a pic from tangerine green gallery and i want to say thanks. Saw how u set up a scrog. I'm about to do that this weekend to
