DAY 23 (WEEK 3) BLOOMING

Here we are growing with the great spectra led lights. Im loving these lights, Ive been testing these lights on so many of my beans. Been growing all different ways again. Like when I was new to it all. Fun stuff.
Here are the pictures you have been waiting for. I will post alot. Seeing as alot got removed by hackers.

Still running 2 lights these babys did some nice growing. They sure did get tall. Lights are about 2ft away. Im going to rearrange my lights very soon. I will put 2 LED spectras directly in the middle. I think these plants are use to that much direct led power.

Penetration on these LED are amazing. I decided I will not grow lollipop this grow. I want to see how well those lower bud sites grow. How deep in the canopy do these spectras actually get. I have another lollipop sog from my own auto seed going now. Thats a 35 tote using 1 SPectra 100 to flower all 35 plants. I will lollipop on these plants in this tote, it will need it. 35 plants under 140w. Cant wait to see what I yield there.

One of the plants, look at all those bud sites, thats going to make one nice big thick cola. Nodes are close, these LED sure know how to make a plant grow. Look at that node spacing, thats after the stretch. Thick stem to hold those heavy resin covered buds.

LED BLOOING TOP. That plant is absorbing that led light. Don't mind the burnt tips, I max nutes out until tip start burning. Fastest way to get to that high ppm mark. Right now im at 1300 ppm.

Look at that healthy plant, its super leaning on the sative side of the gene pool. Skinny leaves, but buds are fattening up just right.

Even the low canopy got the pink shinning on it. These LEDs is going to make its light through those leaves. I dont know why people say LED dont penetrate. They are the BEST GROWING PENTRATORS IN THE GAME. You would need your hps lower, which means you need cooling, which means your coverage area is not that good. I could put this spectra 4 ft up and I bet the lower buds would still get that needed pentrating LED light.

Close up on one of the budding tops, Look how healthy that looks, that trichs are getting big. That plant is going to be super frosty before we even get into the plants trich bulk up stage. I cant wait to see end product. Bag appeal is going to be sweet.

Trichs are everywhere. Looks at how dark green that is. I use only the lucus formula now, I tweaked it to my liking. But, I went to spending so much on liquid nutrients years ago additives, boosters, to spending pennys on dry general hydroponic nutes. MAXIGROW, MAXIBLOOM, KOOLBLOOM. LAST FOREVER! Really dont see that much in lost overall yield, maybe a 8th or 2.

Same plant no close up pic 1. See you nute it until leave tip burn back off, add water to res wait a week, up nutes some more. REPEAT

2 plant no close up.

All in all, im loving growing with these LEDs, I have all different things Im trying again with the LED. TOPPED a couple plants, LST plants from there 4th leaf. Using 1 light on 35 plant sog. using 2 led light on 35 plant sog. Im using most of the lights I have, still not using 2 of them. Did I buy to many, hehe naw, ill find a way to use it.
LED for flowering so far is great, they are frosting the plants up nice and quick. When I grew with my 600w+ cfl in that cab, my buds would not get that frosty to much heat. I got huge rock hard buds though. 1-2 oz a plant. I hope using 280w of led will yield me atleast 1 oz a plant. I think Im asking for alot out of 280w, but im confident in my growing abilities, even if this is my first run with led.

Happy growing all, and be safe.

how well do ya think a 90w tri band UFO and two daytime CFL's will work in a small tent with prop nutrients for veg? Then swapping out daytime CFLs for soft white for flowering? Thanks

Depending on how small you talking, it will work great. Im talking small though maybe a 1.5 x 1.5. CFL flower fine, you need atleast a pack of them, then they need to be in a circle around the plant. You'll get a pretty decent yield.

You do know that you have to introduce the light slowly to a small plant right? Maybe try starting your seedlings under lower powered T5's or CFL's to get them established......then slowly introduce the high powered LED's. Plants don't like abrupt changes and intense light when they don't need it quite yet. I've actually seen some pretty amazing things taking a plant that has been started under an HPS then moving to LED's.......they can handle the intensity from the LED's because they have been under HPS first. Also, it can take time for a plant to try and adapt to PAR specific lighting when it hasn't been grown under previously. Even if you start from seed, the plant that the seed was taken from probably wasn't grown under LEDs so it make sense.

If a light is high in the red spectrum all you are going to see is an increased growth rate and some excessive stretching if it's a far-red wavelength. An increase in red is never a bad thing unless there is absolutely no blue wavelength, then you will have zero growth. When I increased the amount of red in my setup, I've never seen such fast growth before. Didn't like the stretching though. I really think the problems that those little seedlings are facing is the fact that they cannot absorb the intense light fast enough and they are essentially getting "over driven" and can't handle it. So start your seedlings under flouro's then move them to HPS until they exhibit that type of growth, (you know) when the plant leaf cell structure looks like it is on steroids, then transfer it to the LED's. The plants stomata or whatever it's called will be larger and will be able to absorb the light. At least keep the LED's like 5 or more feet away from your seedlings to start out with. With this PAR specific lighting I really think that the plants just aren't used to it yet. After all LED's are not natural light, you need to adjust slowly. It's like putting nitrous oxide into an engine that can't handle the extra power you know................plants can be sensitive, especially the good ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........
Read through this, very good info.

When are you going to turn on the other 2 spectras?

Here is my Kush doing well under T5 only PUR spectrum lighting. Under an 8 bulb fixture with 4 Flora Sun, 2 CA Plant Grow, 2 Coral Wave(actinic with IR) T5 bulbs. Started the 12/12 about 5 days ago.

That is a nice grow. Ive always been interested in PUR spectrum T5 growing. I wouldnt mind some new bulbs, but wife wont allow me to spend anymore money this year on the grow room. I have a couple t5 fixtures, they are 10000k and super actinic. When I changed to those from the 6500k bulbs I was using. Growth exploded. But, I only use my T5s for VEgging. Never used it for FLowering.

I will add 2 more CFLs to the mix so all 4 sides are covered with the LED overhead. thanks

What's your headroom situation like with these new spectra's????Are you slowly dropping them closer or you gonna raise the lights with the stretch(during flower)???

FYI....these lights are now for sale on Amazon(holy shit big$$$$$)...

Yeah it did suck, oh well looking good now. Cant wait to read your grow, your going to love LED.

Yeah hacker did fuck some shit up, but sites back up so were good. RIU is probably on that fixing it. Probably be a while thought. Thanks, trying to hit my 1 oz a plant, trying anyway.

Yeah Ive checked the thread out those new LED from UK look legit, the price you got them for, they are passed legit. I will be subbed on your thread checking in from time to time, interested in those lights.

That first picture could well be modern art! So cool.
Yeah this Canon T3i dont play. Love this camera, shit make me look like I know what Im doing behind the lens. Takes great great movies.

Yeah Psuagro, the headroom I have is 20" at the top of the tallest plant, Im changing the lights around going to have 2 Spectra directly in the middle. I will not be lowering them , leaving them where they are at.

These lights cost an incredible amount. I got a great deal on mine so Im good. Each one I paid way less then a blackstar 240w.

PSUAGRO.

Ha ......you paid less than for a blackstar......well then i think you got a steal:)

obviously you must have allot of headroom to play with still.........good luck and happy growing..

DAY 29 BLOOMING

Still growing, here are some pictures of the bud sites developing, they are getting larger and frostier.

Close up picture of the bud sites, you can see the trichs building.

Still loving the LED grow lights, dont have anything negative to say about them.

Happy growing.

Looking great! I just switched my plants from 400w HPS to 960(rated)/540(draw) watt LED - 4 blackstars. Mine are just a little behind where yours are (haven't started putting the frost or heavy resiny pistols out yet) at day 18. I love my veg lights hoping to get good results with LEDs in flower

ya man looking good glad your happy with leds so far , its a big learning curve compared to hps growing alot different in alot of ways dont be concerned if things dont go exactly the way you want the first time took me 3 or 4 runs before i got a good thing going all the best and happing growing :D

You might want to evaluate your distance form lights or nutes.. unless this is a slow developing strain they are frosty but a bit slow in bud development... for example mine are (I think) a bit slow and they are about as big as yours now at 21 days in. They're a bit on the small side for day 28 on an HID too though they look nicely frosty... I don't want to be a naysayer nor am I an expert, but may want to evaluate if there's anything you can do to fatten up those buds more. I have a feeling otherwise you may be headed towards one of those disappointing yields on a first time LED grow. I know it's what I'm most worried about :)
