I was woundering, I know with indicas that the trichomes are a bit bigger than sativas so for indicas the desired micron size is larger. What about sativas? Any one care to explain were ill get my best product and what i should just not smoke. I have a 20 gallon 8 bag kit with the following micron sizes,
(1) Purple = 25 Micron

(1) White = 45 Micron

(1) Yellow = 73 Micron

(1) Black = 90 Micron

(1) Orange = 120 Micron

(1) Red = 160 Micron

(1) Green = 190 Micron

(1) Blue = 220 Micron

Thanks. :hump:

with 5ln of stuff to hash up, it really doesn't seem that out of order to do an initial trial run with all 8 bags, see which bags give you your fav smoke and then hash up the rest with this knowledge

If i was gonna make hash from that ammount of buds then it would be finger hash, roll the buds very gentaly around in the palm of yr hand and after a while your hands will become skicky and full of resin.Dont throw the buds once this has been done put them through the bags now and you should get a nice ammount of hash, allthough i personaly would much rather smoke the buds in weed form. This is not to say that i would not make any hash i would still make a bit but i think unless you have a massive yeild every few weeks then alot can be wasted, but i much prefer hash to weed if done right. It is just the ammount that is got from a plant that puts me of doing hash, much rather make the odd bit and keep the weed in bud form to smoke has well has hash.............tyke

I know what you mean tyke, but i have about 5-6 lbs of the same strain in bud form right now already+ the 5lb's to make hash. I have plenty of both.

Hey Hey, I'm new to the forum. I was looking for home made hash press ideas and stumbled on your post. This is right out of the Jorge Cervantes book and might help.
1. 25 bag- most often full of SATIVA full melt and physically the smallest bag
2. 45 bag- nice head hash- most often consistent and yellowish to with in color
3. 73 bag - full melt all the way
4. 120 bag - good bubble
5. 160 bag- best for big headed INDICA glands. Debris can settle here
6. 190 bag- removes the majority of the big debris out of the settling process
7. 220 bag - is the first filter where all the big stuff stays

You should be able to tell you good hash from your iffy stuff.
