I'm going to build a Cabin

Yeah went and toured it today. The wife with her better judgement says "No" lol. Pictures are misleading. The lot slopes steeply directly behind the small house and all along the cleared area making the 2acres useless. The 2 streets leading up to it and driveway are steep and narrow and awkward. Couple dying trees in the powerlines.

The bigger house wasn't in terrible shape but you have to walk through the big bedroom to get to the bathroom and then walk past that to get to the smaller bedroom. Weird layout.

The smaller house was 75% gutted to the studs and rafters and the part that wasn't, needed to be. Knob and tube. Hacked off water lines. It was a mess. Literally needs a new everything.

So the search continues.

Well, bummer. I was kinda excited about the whole thing.

I guess that's the end of interfering with 420God's thread.

I like them bud rooms at 75% larger than the veg room with the germming room half the size of the veg room

or about the same size as the average bathroom, drying rooms, are better as 2 large rooms, better humidity control /imo

I used to play with Lincoln logs as a kid, if I was closer to ya I'd help ya out n learn a few things.. Its impressive as hell how these pioneers built things 200 years ago with no nails and used crown and dovetail joints and pegs.

I've caught a few of the Barnwood builders shows, A lot of logs cabin style buildings in it. Wish they spent more time building stuff in the show vs. tearing it down though.

I have a couple books on cabin building with all the style notches and how to do it with or without nails. I'm still considering splitting my own shakes for the roof.
