OK, here is what I have done so far (today)
I got my timer:
Here is my fan. I know it's actually an air filter, but it blows plenty strong and it also has 4 fan speed settings. I used to use it in my room as a fan.
The setup is going in one of the spare room's bathrooms. Here's the drainage in the shower. It will be safe because this room is pretty much never used or seen by anyone unless they are actually looking for it.
Here is where I will be pulling power from:
Here's the top of my hood. It's not done yet, I did run a few of the wires though and hook up some of the sockets. I still need to figure out how to hang this thing form the shower ceiling. Right now there are 5 cords ready but I did make 4 other holes so I can expand later on when the plants are bigger and need more light.
Another picture of the top of the hood. I made it from the base of a large box. I took a paper clip and tied it around each of the wires then wrapped ducttape around the paperclip and the cord to keep the cord from pulling through the top and the lights dropping to the floor.:
Here is the underside of the hood, you can see I added a few sockets already, I'll add the rest tomorrow:
Here is my little mids testing plant:
And here are my bulbs for now, until I order some real seeds at which point I'll probably buy 6 - 9 of the 42w CFL's, a mix between the veg lights and the flowing lights.
=======================================
Now for my questions.
A. Do you think that power source will be enough juice to power 6-9 42w CFL's? And what will I do about my timer seeing as how that source is connected to a light switch?
B. Is my hood OK? I know it's not reflective but I was worried to put wrapping paper on the underside for fear it would be a fire hazard, what do you think?
C. Why the hell does my plant get droopy at night? It the day it's perky but at night it gets all droopy and saggy. Then in the daytime, it comes back to life, is this normal? I want to get these details ironed out before I buy and plant some real seeds.
Thanks!
