Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

What was your printing date?
Approved 11/28
Card Printed 12/6
Card-in-Hand 12/14

As mentioned above, I was 16 days from approval to card-in-hand. And eight days from print to card-in-hand. Longer than most, but not ridiculous. I haven't seen anyone with a crazy delay after approval, but I do think there is some batching taking place such that IDPH's "10-14 days" quote isn't always true.

Case in point: six new cardholders reporting today, the most in a single day for more than two months.

Congrats. I was adding your stats to my spreadsheet and couldn't help but smile when I saw your first post on this forum:

and you did.

To everyone on this terrific forum: I hope medical cannabis brings you all the relief you hope for and need, and that it improves your quality of life the way I feel it's doing for me. Happy holidays.
Thanks a green Christmas is nice

Gotta say, I am somewhat shocked with how little cannabis knowledge some people have that are working at the stores. I am not sure what I was expecting, but I did think that the employees would know the genetics behind the strains they are selling. Also, I asked about changing my dispensary to the Chicago location and was told there wasn't a way to do that on the internet. However, all the Chicago dispensaries have web based forms and of course the state has its own way to do it. Just little things these places should know.

One thing I have really liked is the accurately dose tinctures and sprays. I was a little underwhelmed by the wax I purchased. However, its so nice to be getting exactly what strain you want. I had pretty good connects for a long time but you could never be sure.

I think its important to remember that our system is never going to be equal to what we say in California and Colorado (whose markets have also changed drastically as well) and that things will improve with time. Its still a trip to walk into a store and be able to purchase pot.

I think it will get much better with legalization. I see our problems as pricing. lack of businesses creating monopolies.
CA's problem shouldn't happen here, we already require testing. Other than quality complaints I haven't heard much bad from CO.

I see people complaining about prices compared to street and quality compared to other states. I think they must be getting crap on the street or are comparing bulk prices. For the quality I think it's just a fad to complain about your state's quality. I hear the same thing from people in other states. I see it as a wannabe connoisseur thing, it makes people sound like one to claim good quality is poor.

Already with just the threat of OAPP my dispensary has brought in a cheaper grower that I've heard they did away with a while ago. Not quit half the price I was hearing on the street but close.
Christmas ended early so I should have no problem making my first trip first thing tomorrow morning.

Card in hand.

Doctors Appt: 9/26
Illinois received app: 9/26

just about 91 days from the day I submitted it, it showed up on my mailbox.

Kudos to all who provided status updates—they kept me patient during the wait.

Happy camper here. Booya!

I will likely never log in to this forum again, so good riddance!

This really doesn't have anything to do with our current wait times, but I wanted to share it here just for comparison purposes.

The other night I happened to talk to someone who received their Illinois MMJ card in 2016. He'd gone through the process at The Healing Clinic, same as I did. We were comparing our experiences, and everything was identical except for one important factor: he received his card from the state in just under 30 days, and I'm now at day 81 and still waiting.

First shopping trip. 2oz :bigjoint: (There was a sale, half oz of popcorn for $100, weak enough THC it should be good for me.)

Lady checking me in said I wasn't registered with them. I know that's who I registered with. While she was filling out the form to get me registered and my anger with IDPH was rekindling she decided to try my number again and this time I showed up.
I've heard of others having that problem recently. I wonder if they also had the person checking them put in too few numbers?
So if it happens to you suggest they try all the numbers.
