If you were me, what would YOU do? Consider this an emergency.

I ask because I need some can-do solutions to determine what's within my budget and what can be done quickly.

Backstory: A few years ago my dealer's supplier fucked up the lighting and got a bunch of males. I wound up with a bag full of seeds that I kept of Sour Diesel.

Today: I've wanted to grow some personal supply for a while and a couple of days after discussing our motivations for doing it the old lady decided to toss all of those seeds into the flower bed outside. They are now about 1-2 inches tall, in soil, and sitting under a 24/7 aerogarden light (some of them, there are others still in the soil outside.)

My problem: I don't want to kill these sprouts. I'm not versed enough to know what I should do about what I've got available to me to make sure these little kiddies grow.

So in the picture you'll see I've got this AeroGarden, which is attached to a timer that is currently set for 24/0. I suspect this will be my primary lighting for the time being. You'll also notice that they're all clumped together. The leaves are also a bit yellow, which means they've been over watered I think.

So the million dollar question to anyone in the know: What would you do if you were me?

In my opinion the first step is 'saving' them. The next step would be determining the best grow solution for my circumstances. The next would be achieving that solution the cheapest way possible, and working up from there.

Everything I've read here mostly assumes these relatively large configurations, and anything here talking about the AeroGarden assumes I have the nutes and the grow kits - which I don't because we found it abandoned in the apt we moved into. Which is part of the point for me posting this. Would it be better to try and get them to root into something and use the AeroGarden as the primary grow solution? I've got a small fishtank that we can use for bubbleponics too, but again I don't know if these sprouts can be safely and easily moved into that kind of environment, and I don't know enough about bubbleponics to, say, go to the store tomorrow afternoon and pickup what I need. The guides help, but they're mostly void of specifics.

I've been lurking the guides for a while, but time is ticking and if I don't just come out and ask for some emergency direction then I'm certainly going to lose these sprouts.

much love.

1) If I use the AeroGarden light as a primary light supply for the entire growth of these plants, what is the best solution in terms of elevating it above the plants? eg. There are no places to hook chains, strings, or wires to the fixture itself, and the 'spine' is a real pain in the ass.

2) What kind of nutes am I looking for in terms of design? There's a lot of names tossed back and forth but I don't recall reading anything that said "You need nutes designed for fruits." And inversely, what nutes should I be sure not to accidentally by? Would nutes for vegitables kill an herb plant?

3) I can't afford to construct a Mr. Right growing environment at the moment, but the money I spend on dank could fix that if only I had my own dank to smoke. That being said, I'm not looking for Mr. Right, but Mr. Right Now. Should I use the tank, and break for bubbleponics, or find/build a location to use indoor soil methods?

This is a life we're talking about saving here!!

No. This is your first grow. Just transplant them into a decent size pot with good potting soil, and be patient. Don't get greedy by trying to blast them with too much light, or overfertilizing/overwatering. The yellow in the leaves isn't from too much water either. They're probably just not happy in the ground their currently in.

First and foremost....seperate those seedlings---VERY gently. Lightly hold by the stem, do not touch the roots at all. Have prepared a very small "tunnel" to place and very LIGHTLY pack soil around. Keep moist, but not drenched. Do not even bother giving any fertilizer until it becomes strong. I would also suggest starting out with a deeper container than the one seedlings are currently in.

True Story:

My first ever hydro grow was in an Aerogarden, you know, the little herb garden sized pieces of shit?

I had to fill it up every day for 3 fuckin months, thru veg and flower, but I harvested almost 3 full ounces of dry weight from it.

Of course I took the crappy light off and set it on the floor under my 400w HPS to get it there, but it worked like a charm.

sepperate those seedlings before they root togather and you cant seperate them if you have to many in the same spot the more domante plant will pull all the nuts that they need to thrive from the weaker plant pot them seperate....one Q after i said that for soil growing why isnt this the same for hydro dwc

get a 18 gal rubber maid tub and 2 12 inch air stones and a standard 2 outlet fishtank pump2 6 in baskets from local grow shop and Fox Farm nutes and your shit will be blowin up trust me im a soil grower till deth but my girlfriend talked me into doing some "hydro"for her (girls listen to way to many rap songs)and dude it started raging mad roots within 2 days they r passing my soil plants up by like 6 in. (same clones) but like i say where that 20 gal res sits with 2 plants i could fit 4 soil but its up to u bro

No doubt. It's ugly dirt. What is decent sized for the next few months? And like I had said before some of the guides aren't real specific. At what point will I know it's time to move them into something bigger, like those painters buckets? I only want personal growth here, so I'll research how to determine which plants are keepers after I've got them healthy again.

Just a general question, why not touch the roots?

1x 18gal tub
2x 12" Air Stones
1x Dual Outlet Fishtank pump
2x 6" Baskets

Then what? We're talking a hydro setup so I'm assuming I'll be 'elevating' the plants? Is it safe/possible to transplant them into a hydro environment at this point? Should I give them a week to get strong again, or will it be too late by then?

And THANKS! I wasn't expecting this many responses in a newb forum so fast.

Can't put soil plants in hydro... what you can do is keep soil plants then top them, clone the tops and put them into your hydro, sex one set and grow the other.

I would put them in some foxfarm soil let them get heathy and abigger before any nutes. Then flower them manually outside. Bring them in at 6 pm to a nice cool dark closet. Put them out in the sun at 6 am. You will get the best herb for the least money. To then invest in what you really want. Just my opinion though.

Actually I do have a timer. So I'm square on that. I took them off 24/0 and put them on 18/4. I'm replanting them at the moment into 6 individual plastic pots. We'll take those into the house and keep them screened off with the light going on that schedule. I'll take a photo journal of what I do since I've been forced to take photos early on. I'm using Scotts Premium Planting soil and the lighting from the AeroGarden. I still don't know how I'm going to hang the light fixture though.. it's awkwardly shaped and does not have hook holes.

DANKS AGAIN!

UPDATE:
I've taken pictures of the near complete grow setup. I found an old K9 Keeper in the garage too that had a side and a top swing door and some white nylon sheeting. I'm beginning to think the previous tenant had their own little grow setup, but I dunno. Anyways, I need to worry about ventilation and the odor next. But the watering schedule and the number of days I'll do the 18/4 lighting.

What should my watering schedule look like and for how long? I ask so I know how much time I have to learn me the rest of the grow process.. school and work doesn't leave much time to do more than smoke a little bud and play some video games. ;p

Consider I don't have any of the starter planters for the AeroGarden, is there a better way to seed with one than just buying these: http://www.aerogardenstore.com/promotion/index.php?promoName=catalog&pageName=product&viewProduct=9149-00Z

The reason i say put them outside is you will get much more and quality smoke from the sun that the aerogarden light and by bringing it in at night it doesnt catch the ambiant light of the moon, stars etc. Even through a window can work if you slowly get them used to the glare from the glass. Good luck

What about a standard reflective 48" fluorescent with high lumen bulbs?
